Sanded on the siding so that I can put some paint on since we are having mild weather this week. Wife treated me with a special sexual favor in the living room before supper, man I love not having kids in the house anymore

Replaced my wife's glass top range that I broke last week. It became "hers" the moment "I" broke it. OK who am I kidding? The words glass top used in a sentence by me inevitably includes the word broken and it's probably my fault. The good news: cost of new range top $0. Got the extended warranty and it was covered. good thing. The dog was tired of me taking up "her" recliner.

Again I'm late in posting but this is what I did on Saturday, but I'll throw it here anywaz.
I planned to go "Antiqueing" to see if I can find any deals around here like I've seen other members find and to make a long story short I came back empty handed. That does not mean I didn't see a few cool things.
So let me walk you through the day at FREDERICKSBURG!
Showered, clothed, fed and ready to go! Lazy Gatos decide not to come with us and instead continue to sleep on the corner of our bed.
IMG_20111103_220915.jpg

Fine, whatever, we don't need the cats to have fun right? We can make our OWN fun. So after about an hour of driving we FINALLY start to see civilization, sort of.
Peaches. Lots and Lots of FREDERICKSBURG PEACH signs EVERYWHERE. This is just me, but I'm not pulling over and knocking on your front door to buy your amazing peaches. I don't care how good they are. So I took a pic instead. It'll last longer than the peach would have. :)
Image11052011182238.jpg

So we get into town and try to find a parking spot on the SIDE OF THE FREAKING ROAD BABY.
Image11052011173214.jpg

This is "Main St." and it's where all the cool kids hang out... and the majrity of restaurants and small businesses, and museums and such. Most of the buildings have that old timey feel which I like, but this place is freaking spares in antique shops.
Below is some odd looking museum. We didn't go in cause I didn't drive an hour for a museum damnit.
IMG_20111105_150406.jpg

After walking around and enjoy our beer and wine (everyone else was doing it so we decided to partake as well) we finally come across a pretty nifty 3 story antique shop. And this is a seriously legit antique shop, I'm sorry I didn't take more pictures of it; I was in awe. There's nothing in this place that is made in the 1970's and up. Everything is OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD. The floos creak with EVERY step. It was awesome.
And so is this beauty. It looks like some sort of mad scientist's this is where I store all my lab experiments. Really kool, and BIG.
IMG_20111105_153230.jpg

I also found a tin of old backy... and I don't know why I didnt buy it, I'm SURE it was $1.00, but I just looked at it and put it back down. I took a pick of the back and wondered, why in the hell would someone need to take this BACK to their tobacconist?
Image11052011171750.jpg

Image11052011171811.jpg

After this place we found one other antique shop but it specialized more in silver, plates, spoons, crytal, the more valuable side of Antiques. It was a blast just t walk through the place and see sterling silver monogrammed serving dishes. Very nice stuff. I didn't take pics in here because it felt wrong... Except for THESE TWO!!!
IMG_20111105_134928.jpg

IMG_20111105_135034.jpg

If I were a collector I would have snagged these in a second. But right now... not so much. Both were very nice in person though. So after that the day was done with a lot of shoe and clothes shopping in between... /sigh
I did manage to snag some britle and fudge!
Image11052011182458.jpg

And munched alllllllll the way home while enjoying a nice soft Texas Sunset

The End.

spartan: now that's a real post, thanks for all the pics, that was great fun.
today I worked 9 hours, came home and listed 8 items on Craigslist, had a talk with my daughter, went out to eat at Longhorn for a nice Filet Mignon, came home and got the 535 pound speaker up on a pallet that was sitting on two carpeted dolly's all by myself. Pretty good huh?

P1040034.jpg

sheet of cardboard down

P1040035.jpg

shoved the pallet up against the wall, tilted the speaker up on the pallet, put two 1/2" pieces of EMT conduit under the speaker, lifted up the end with a floor jack and pushed it forward

woke up to a phone call this morning at 5AM as the guy who was picking up my Cannondale mx bike was waiting outside my house with his 40' trailer, so we loaded that up first thing.

P1040095.jpg

...then tried starting my work truck to find a dead battery. :(

got a new battery in the truck, switched insurance companies (cars, house) from the evil worthless POS State Farm and saved myself 1/2 the money in premiums and cut my deductible in 2/3...they've made their last dollar off of me as I fed them for 31 years.

Truck driver came at 4:30 and we loaded the 590 pound theatre speaker into the big truck so that it can go to its new home in Las Vegas

P1040098.jpg

I have alot more room in my garage now.

This was the first day I have not worked on my novel since I started on it. Got up, breakfast, went to work, came home, had a good cigar with my biker buddy, and now I'm listening to some tunes and catching up on the forums.

Tore up all the carpet in the 18x35 Great Room and the padding, which had 500 staples that had to be removed one at a time. The oak hardwood at the foyer (a pain in the buttocks),the a big cleanup in prep for the vapor barrier film which I'll put down tomorrow. I've found out that flooring is the last career change I ever want to make....man I'm sore.

Spent the w/end getting covered from head to toe in disgusting brown, slimy, chunky liquid oozing and spitting out from the bowels of estate pipes being attacked with nylon shank brushes ... some were so bad I couldn't even get the skinniest brush through. I sanded, I polished and then sanded and polished some more for 2 solid days and nights when not catching some shut eye. With the help of Obsidian Oil & Halycon or whatever that pipe polish is, I have one very spiffy collection of beautiful pipes, err, umm, enough for an army if the truth be told, sigh. Going to have to sell some to get the credit card back in order real quick.

Took my truck into the shop, seems back windows don't stop shifting 2x4's from entering the cabin. Feel funny driving this Paris longer, pretty sure I could almost fit it in my trucks box. Also changed up my avatar, now you all have to.deal with my ugly mug staring at you all day. Oh, and that working thing.
Now, onto the finale of the HBO series "The Wire", a glass of single-malt, a bowl of Wilderness, and a quiet evening with the wife and no kid. :)

Hobie,
If I may ask, which insurance company did you switch to? Being a 23 year old... I'm curious, as I'll have to be looking into insurance pretty soon. I'm a 17 year old in a 23 and 9/10 year old body.
To keep with the topic.... Today I picked up a package from my main office at the apt complex, it was the shiny new point and shoot Olympus camera that Paul reccomended (It looks damn sexy, the most I've ever spent on a camera lol) for my wife.
Went to work ( customer service is a lost art. dealing with FedEx customer service has taught me so; they are so freaking by the book it's annoying, "yes sir, thank you sir, sorry sir, yes sir, one moment sir sorry sir" AFTER EVERYTHING YOU SAY!) they are good peeps... just a little too robotic for my tastes. I'm one of the more badass cust reps BTW :puffy:
Left work, went to pick up the wifey from her work at the OBGYN ( I guess if you have any OBGYN questions I can foward them to her and will be descreet.... Gentlemen... lol) Drove towards home, filled up the gas tank at $3.04 a gallon ( lowest it's been in San Antonio for maybe 6 months? it's been a while)
Drank some beers (Tecate with Lime), watched "The Last House on the Left" on Netflix, drank some more beer, laughed at the "scary" movie, drank beer. Then I went outside for a fantastic smoke of SHORTCUT TO MUSHROOMS... Divine, and now I'm typing out this stuff.....
Booya. :puffy:

Let us know how you and your wife like that camera! Paul and I have been eyeing that one for a while because sometimes we just don't feel like lugging around the DSLRs. And if I could get him to stop spending $ on pipes, we'd probably have the darn thing

Switched to Hartford for home and auto, now I'm back down to a reasonable deductible and lower payments...State Farm got really comfortable raping me.
Tonite I removed the axle clutch that has leaking seals from the race kart.
