4.5/5 Monk
I never watched the series before and always heard how good it was. I'm on season 7 now and it's a "lighthearted" murder mystery show for what looks like primetime tv (remember the term "primetime"?) While I do enjoy it I docked 1/2 point because the better murder mysteries are Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes and The Blacklist.

I love Monk, I saw it was on Amazon Prime (I recently signed up) and I'm gonna rewatch it. He's definitely in my all time favourite detectives list, along with Holmes, Columbo and Morse.
I particularly like the way Adrian interacts with his assistants, first Sharona then Natalie. Great series and I'd give it a 5/5.

Or did he......? <g>

Hahaha! Yeah that's the big conspiracy theory, which Andy would've absolutely loved. Sadly I read an article a little while ago where his girlfriend said he's definitely dead, she watched him die in the hospital?. So that pretty much puts an end to the whole "Andy Kaufman is still alive" rumours................ unless she was in on the whole thing ???

Who isn't watching loads more than usual video? I often have both the tv on muted and listen to youtube while I surf blogs and news sites. I sometimes forget that I'm wearing corded earplugs. but that's another story.
I really love to surf music videos on youtube, as well as any other subject that pops into mah hayaid.
Saw a nice one with Harrison and Simon acoustically sharing versions of their seminal hits,
On the TeeVee I an loath to watch much, because most of the time I look up and see Joe Namath hawking health insurance to us boomers, or a lipozene commercial. I do watch re-runs of The Closer on 'smart' tv.
On Netflix, the Kominsky Affair is a 5 and After LIfe with Gervais is awesome too
I have started and stopped a lot of 'content' including Tiger whatever the hell he was.
Cable news is usually only viewed by me either iive on youtube if an 'event' is happening or replays of snippets. Too much exposure to "news" is not healthy.
I've got about 2 wks worth left of popcorn, beans and rice before I have to get a little moar creative.

This looks like its going to be amazing. Besides the men being gorgeous the whole thing looks suspenseful.

Anthropoid on Amazon Prime.
It's a WW2 film based on the true story of 2 Czech soldiers (played by Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan) and their mission to assassinate Reinhard Heydrich.
Heydrich was the 3rd highest ranked Nazi (behind Hitler & Himmler) and was the Reich-Protector (dictator) of Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia. He had imprisoned/tortured/murdered 1000's of Czechoslovakian people so the Czech government in exile decided to do something about it. They sent over from England a small group of soldiers to carry out the mission, the soldiers would be helped by local Czech resistance once they arrived in Prague and Anthropoid was the codename they gave to the operation.
I've seen a couple of documentaries on this and the movie follows quite closely what actually happened.
I always enjoy World War 2 films that are based on real life events, especially if they're done as well as this was.
I give it a 4/5

Chappaquiddick on BBC iplayer

It's a movie about Senator Ted Kennedy and the late night car crash he was involved in. I'm sure you're well aware of what happened, but for anyone who isn't Ted took a late night drive with a lady friend (Mary Jo Kopechne) and ended up crashing the car off a bridge into a pond, where Mary Jo drowned.
According to Ted he heroically tried to save Mary Jo but couldn't, he was concussed and in shock which was the reason he failed to raise the alarm and call the police.
Jason Clarke plays Ted and an almost unrecognisable (I didn't even know it was him 'till the credits) Bruce Dern plays Joseph, the patriarch of the Kennedy clan.

I was well aware of the Chappaquiddick incident but I was (if the film is to be believed) surprised how shallow the water was. I always imagined the car was submerged 15ft - 20ft down or something, but apparently the bottom of the car was poking out of the water.
We'll never know if Ted did desperately try and save Mary Jo but one things for sure, he didn't do what I (and I'm sure you) would've done if we couldn't save her ourselves, and that's try and get professional help, ie the police. Apparently there was a pocket of air in the car and it looked like Mary Jo had been using it to breathe and could have survived for quite some time, so if Ted had immediately gone for help she possibly could've been saved.
What followed was an attempted cover up by Ted, the Kennedy's and assorted friends and people of influence.

It's a pretty good film that (unsurprisingly) doesn't show Ted Kennedy in a favourable light.
I give it 3½/5

Just watched Richard Jewel..

wow! The man saved hundreds of people at the ATL Olympics. The FBI spent months trying to frame him for the bombing.. If half of the movie is true, we should have fired the FBI.

Haven't seen it yet, but looking forward to it. I remember when that happened.

And no surprise regarding the FBI...long history of corruption there.

We've been watching a lot of shows available on Acorn, BBC and Amazon Prime. It started with The Brokenwood Mysteries and My Life Is Murder and we've moved to binge watching Midsommer Murders and Death in Paradise. I just wish the seasons were longer.
