If you are a fan of "The Sopranos", this documentary is worth watching. For almost 20 years, I worked, drove and stayed in New Jersey and visited most of the spots were exterior scenes were shot. Roy Rogers is mentioned a few times and one scene was shot in front of the Alexander Hamilton Plaza near Secaucus. I went by the Bada-Bing (Satin Dolls real name) several times, but never went in (usually in the morning, not sure I could take Jersey strippers with coffee at 8 AM). I've driven Tony's opening credits drive out of NYC into suburban NJ many times. Most of the places are gone now, including the Hydro-PU sign and Satriale's.

Big fans. I think I may have watched the above, but not clear enough to rate.

My lady and I did a Sopranos tour of Northern NJ a few years ago- like 6-7- and indeed Satin Dolls was closed. An unexpected bonus was discovering the Cathedral in central Newark— a real gem, pristine condition.

The NJ Turnpike scenes were familiar to me before the Sopranos. I have a vague notion we stayed in some suburban B and B that was in or near a few scenes in the show.

"1917". Started watching some time ago, and still watching it. Good movie, but just can't seem to finish it. I'll give 4.5. I would give the reason for taking that half star, but that would spoil the movie.

Not something I've been watching but something remembered from my early 20s - "Soap", with the incomparable Richard Mulligan. It was a must-watch for me and my then girlfriend, probably because we were stoners, but the memory of it came back today - and it is very fondly remembered. I wonder how it has aged? I must look for an episode.

Started watching Mad Men last weekend, the first couple of episodes were good, despite the ooooooooooverdone stereotypes, cast looks sleek and spot on, it's beautifully shot, almost stylized... Hoooowever we both found it getting boring from episode 3 onwards, there's just not much of substance happening. 3-4/5.

Currently watching two different shows. When in the house with the wife, we've been watching "Old Man" with Jeff Bridges, and John Lithgow. About halfway through season two, and so far I'd give the series a 4/5. While in the shop smoking my pipe/cigars, I've been watching "Newhart" with Bob Newhart. Such a classic 80's sitcom. Always enjoy some Larry, Darryl, and Darryl, but what I forgot about is in the first two seasons, was the neighbor, Kirk. His character was great. Excellent show, definitely 5/5.

I'm a fan of "The Old Man". The book that it is based on its also very good.

I just started Season 3 of "From". Pretty creepy!

Currently watching Those who kill. Danish thriller with 4 seasons of which I’m part way through series 1. Good TV if you can handle subtitles and heavy Nordic noir type shows. Currently on Aussie TV’s SBS but I see it on other streaming services. Early days but a good watch so far, 4/5

I've used https://0123movies-hd.net a few times and found it convenient for streaming movies and shows. The selection is decent, and the site loads quickly. However, I’d recommend being cautious as free streaming sites can sometimes have ads or pop-ups. Overall, it's a good option for casual viewing.

As a fellow *Sopranos* fan, I highly recommend the documentary too! I lived in New Jersey for over a decade and visited some of the iconic filming locations. Seeing places like the Bada-Bing (Satin Dolls) and driving the same route Tony takes in the opening credits was surreal. It's nostalgic to watch and remember how much the state shaped the show. Many of those spots are gone now, but it's still worth a visit for fans of the series. Definitely brings back memories!

Just finished Narcos: Mexico. 4.25/5

Halfway through Griselda. 1/5.

Disappointing since some of the prople involved in the production of Narcos worked on Griselda. I expected better.

The titular character bears little resemblance to the actual Griselda Blanco as written. The acting is stiff, the writing is cringy and the dialogue is badly forced.

Finally got around to watching The Whale. Some great acting here by most characters, but the subject matter is a little dark, and it's filmed even darker as it all takes place in one apartment, which is always dark. A worthwhile watch though. 5/5
