I've been streaming an old Sherlock Holmes series on RokuTV. 5 out of 5 for an old B&W show.

A little after the 10 minute mark in this episode:

"It's quite obvious Watson..._____....that's a specially prepared blend only made for the well to do connoisseur. You'll note the burley base and touch of latakia, with certain amount of yenidje leaf."

On the YouTube, I caught the latest episode from Eric O and his lovely lady, Mrs O (Vanessa) down at the South Main Auto channel all the way from Avoca (think that's right) in NY state. Been watching Eric some years, the guy is a scary good mechanic who fixes things without firing parts cannons. Soothing, some charming interplay with his wife who in this one is tapping her foot, waiting on her bus getting fixed.

5/5, love them.

The movie about Ronald Reagan has just been released. "Reagan" Stars Dennis Quaid, John Voight and Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy.

The reviews from the critics and the regular cinema goers have been polar opposites.

From Rotten Tomatoes:

Critics (55 reviews) : 20%
The people (2,500 reviews) : 98%

A slight disparity, there😆.

Has a good cast and the trailer looks okay so i'll give it a watch when it comes to streaming and make my own mind up.

An Australian cop series, "Water Rats" is supposedly a procedural but, it's full of lousy police work, It has it's moments but, maybe a two out of five. Some good plot lines but, totally unrealistic police procedure. Again, maybe a two out of five and that's being easy on the series.

Don't know why I'm still watching "Water Rats". I'm very near the end of its run and it has morphed into a freakin' soap opera. Too much time invested, I guess, to quit. I'll tough it out to the end.

Seriously, the first couple of seasons were entertaining. These last? See above.:poop:

"Dark Winds" a wonderful. Zahn McClarnon is extremely good as Leaphorn, best I've seen. There isn't a weak actor in the bunch in my opinion. A great production, all facets. 5/5 for sure!

I've read all of the Leaphorn/Chee books. Hillerman and his daughter knew/know how to spin a yarn while educating the reader. The movie doesn't stray from their characterizations.

I completed Yellowstone, Seasons 1-5.1, which brings the series to current.
Awaiting the big finale, season 5.2. Overall, I'm unimpressed. I stand by my previous statement... I don't know what all the hype was about. I gave it a shot, and I stuck with it, but it was mediocre at best. Don't get me wrong, the acting was good, but the premise was just ok. The story was the same throughout all the seasons... Who's going to try and take the ranch. What criminal acts will be perpetrated and who are the Dutton's going to have to kill to prevent it from happening? Kinda boring really. I did however develop a fondness for the characters Rip & Beth. (3.5/5*)

Finished watching the series Underbelly Razor last night. Australian produced series about two matriarch’s of organised crime in the 20’s and 30’s in Sydney and is based on a true story, good viewing. I watched it on Stan which is an Ozzie streaming channel but I see it’s on Tubi and others as well.
‘Worth a watch and I give it 4 out of 5.
Warning: it does have plenty of nudity and language.

This is the post that’d get me flagged for sexism but here goes nothing.

The Perfect Couple. 3/5 for me, 5/5 for my wife.

Something was bugging me in the first three episodes: not much of substance was going on, just a ton of talk, a ton of gossip and not much else. Then it hit me, the director is a woman, it’s an adaptation of a novel written by a woman, and most of the cast are women. It’s probably the most “female” series I’ve seen, the “why I say that” is almost intangible, but it comes down to the details, so much it’s cliche. It’s basically “rich dysfunctional assholes doing rich dysfunctional stuff” and a murder mystery where it’s gradually revealed that everyone is an absolutely terrible human being.
