What I like is the satire of the narcissistic tendencies of today, and the, mildly put, juvenile media climate.
I think the manuscript is spot on and the movie is well cut.

Star Trek - Strange New Worlds. Season 2 started off with a bang last week looking forward to the rest of the season.

Also looking forward to Season 2 of The Bear and Season 3 (the final season for me) of The Witcher. My main man Henry way to good for those writers.

Really liked this movie. A masterpiece in it's simplicity.
Actor Tim Blake Nelson makes a great performance.

Back in 2020 I bought a 9 DVD boxset called 'True Detective'. Over the last 2 evenings I've really tried to get into season 1 (8 hours over 3 discs in total) but I'm struggling to make out quite what I'm watching. Yes, Woody Harrelson & Matthew McConaughey are good actors and certainly have their moments here, I just think this story could have been told in a lot less time.

It has rave reviews on Amazon but I must be missing something.....and I have 2 more episodes to go yet and then series 2 & 3 .

A miserable 2/5 from me.

This is the problem with a lot of these serialized stories...some would have made good movies but too much filler written in just to stretch it out into a series.

True Detective is one of my top television shows. My kids live in rural Louisiana, so that part was fascinating and pretty close to the mark.
Season Two was weak, but watchable.
Season Three was impressive.
Season Four with Jodi Foster also looks good.
The writing is just very good.

I’m up to date with the episodes in the “Endeavor” final season. I really like it. As a fan of “Morse”, although I know they are trying to connect/explain a little bit to tie into the original, this is much darker and more “modern” in approach so I really see it as a standalone series and honestly not much of a prequel. That said, 4.5/5*.

House Of Strangers - Edward G. Robinson, et. al. 5/5*

The later Western version Broken Lance with Spencer Tracy is pretty darn good as well.

I'd also recommend Endeavour as well as noting it's "edgier" than previous seasons. Eps 1 & 2—— 5/5.....on Brit Box or PBS.

There's also a character who seems to know how to smoke a pipe (Inspector Thursday) A few other characters smoke as well.

Note Bene: a lot of reviews are missing ratings! And if you're agreeing with some one, please give it some meat!

Somehow, despite living in Chicago for 25 years, I never watched Running Scared with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines. Hilarious. And a little politically incorrect. Loved it. 4/5
