30 years ago I watched a movie that was not popular or marketed much and I think it was a box office flop. I think it was Australian or New Zealand movie and I really enjoyed it. Don’t let the name fool you as it’s not about aliens.

“The Earthling”

Just started “The Kominsky Method”. I’ll stick with it.

The first episode was an easy 4/5.

Alan Arkin is great as he always was.

Hard to believe Chuck Lorre had any involvement with this series.

Rewatched this Cronenberg film, Maps To The Stars...one of the best movies you've never seen...unique and original.

Part psychological thriller, part black comedy, part ghost story...but all about the malignant narcissism and generational dysfunction of celebrity and Hollywood culture.

5/5

Just finished George and Tammy… OMG, even if Michael Shannon doesn’t look much like possum, he is such a great actor that the energy between him and Tammy, that bam, he blew it out of the water. Such great music and acting. 5/5 mf stars.
If you like classic country, or if you just like a great love story, watch this. I love the way George sang, but damned if it just wasn’t so damned sad. But, with Tammy, he could set to music what love is all about. And, Michael Shannon shows us what great acting is all about.

Agreed on all of that, what a great show.

I'm almost done "Florida Man" - it has been outstanding (5/5). Sometimes, it's heard to hear the lead actors dialogue (accent). The dialogue is great, so you don't want to miss any.

Six year old granddaughter is staying with us for a few weeks so we watched:
Sing
Sing 2
Surprisingly good!
She thought it was pretty cool that my wife and I could sing many of the songs (not well, but we knew the lyrics...)

John Wick 4 5/5

They know what people like and they deliver. The continuity issue with the car was funny they didn't catch it. New fear of john wick tossing me off a balcony in a night club and falling on my head unlocked.

Just back from the cinema. Took my son to see the new Mission Impossible.
It's awesome. 5/5
Plot is what you would expect. Lots of shadowy' untrustworthy characters chasing after a ridiculous 'maguffin'. The plot foundation is around AI. I won't say more than that. Its funny, fast paced, bold and loud. Like James Bond amd Jason Bourne on steroids and ramped up to 11. Cruise gives it everything and delivers superbly. The action set pieces come thick and fast and are superb. There is a lengthy car chase through Rome, which is possibly the best car chase I have seen put onto film. The finale is proper edge of the seat action tension.

For my first ever Blu-ray discs, my neighbour has loaned me something called 'Gravity' with Sandra Bullock and a triple set called 'The Dark Knight Trilogy' which I think is a Batman film.

Any thoughts on either of these films? Am I going to enjoy my first ever BD experience?

Regards,

Jay.

Been watching the YouTube version of the Pacific War Kings and Generals. Is about 20 minutes on specific week of the war, in order, that is fairly easy to follow. My god, the detail is unbelievable. It covers the war from India to Alaska and has a tremendous amount of detail. If you are a fan of WW2 action in the Pacific this is the series for you.
