With Amazon Prime, I can download just about anything for 1.99 or 2.99 at the most. But, 90% of what each online service offers is free. I'm not sure I understand any benefit to owning a DVD player.

Watching these right no. I think they have aged well. Believe this incarnation was only a Summer, but worth the watch 5/5

Netflix... White Gold, hilarious. Even though they are English, the humor still translates easy to English, you know... even though I still have to use captions, because they mumble incomprehensibly like the English do. Why can't the English talk right? 
This is set in the 80's as some window glaze salesmen fight, fuck, and fumble their way into riches and poverty. The main character is like England's version of Jude Law, very good, very good.

Rewatched Last of the Mohicans for the first time in years a few nights ago. Intense action and some great acting. 30 years old and still stands up well. I am a fan of Michael Mann's output. 4.5/5.
"New Tricks", another BBC show. I'm into season 8 and haven't seen an episode I'd rate below 5. Great cast, story lines that captured my attention five minutes into the first episode. It's a loose "police procedure" series. I'd never heard of it, just took a chance based on the description provided by Amazon Prime.
