Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2018 Mac Baren Original Flake in a straight smooth dark brown 1918 Pre-Republic Peterson’s Dublin 2 apple with a silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Been doing some research. Lunch follows this smoke.
Feeling perverse, I loaded up one of my cobs from a pouch of Captain Black a friend gave me (along with a bunch of other stuff) when he moved out of state. Despite careful smoking, I couldn't get any flavor out of it beyond a very mild chemical sweetness. Into the trash the rest of the pouch went.
Smoking a Isle of Man Bulldog with some White Burley, Orient and Perique while reading „Tadellöser & Wolff“ from Author Walter Kempowski published in 1978. It’s an epos he wrote about his family in Nazideutschland-Rostock during WW II. At that time he was a school boy. No heroes, no resistance, just the average Germans at wartime in a bombed out city.
The book is excellent stuff. The title Kempowski choosed for the book is the name of a tobacconist in the city which delivered his father with the finest hand rolled cigars. The words became a symbol for the good things in life.

On my 2nd bowl of the 2022 C&D - Carolina Red Flake out of a Peterson Dublin 106 smooth. Has a deep, rich flavor and is surprisingly sweet at times. The spice is pretty tame and unless I puff hard on it and doesn't really get too strong until the end of the bowl. Probably the best red Va I've ever had, though FWIW I never tried the other CRF to compare it to.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2022 Mac Baren Burley London Blend in a smooth medium bend 2011 Rinaldo Collection Fiammata Silver Line 7 Odea 04 flame grain bulldog with a silver band and a tortoise shell acrylic saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
Smoking what’s left of SG‘s Brown No. 4 in my old no name „Old Briar“ with nylon stem. You can’t get it anymore in Germany since Brexit.
Morning all and happy Tuesday to you. Out and about so I’ve packed this little Morgan Bones with Stokkebye’s Cube Cut. It‘s much loved and smoked a heck of a lot of this blend which it does so well.

Did a second set of walking reps, and am close to finishing this bowl from a freshly opened tub of 2016 D&R Two Timer in a smooth straight late 1970s Charatan Special 4148DC Reg. No. 203573 pot with a black double comfort vulcanite stem.
