So ... we're right on the Eve of the Holiday Season ... warmth, family, friends, love & emotion filling us.
So ... I have to ask my Forum brothers = WTH's going on with you guys? Are you trying to choke me up?
Me = 3-year Veteran, US Army ... former MN Olympic Weightlifting Champ ... 10th Grade 148lb B-Squad wrestler who chose to "wrestle up" in Heavy Weight class savoring 1 min pins of 300lb opponents ... former Night Club "doorman" (bouncer) for 4 years during college ... (cough, cough -- sorry for the bio).
Then Sobrbiker posts old pic right after saving Bob from meat auction (SNIFF).
Then BenMN posts pic of his boy after serious health problem (SNIFF).
And I just watched Cable TV shows counting down tonight (Fri), then hitting the switch lighting huge Christmas trees (SNIFF).
Okay, took couple deep breaths, wiped a tear away, took another sip of good Canadian Whisky, then returned to excellent, awesome pipeful of Pegasus. Fireplace burning. Temp below freezing. Hot Turkey Lentil Rice Veg Stew went down & is sitting well. At this moment, all seems "right with the world".

Yeah, I know... yesterday evening, blast after blast of tractor horns sounded down the road outside, and a procession of assorted motorised farming vehicles, all decked out with lights, from all the neighbouring farms for miles around, drove past on their way into town to inaugurate the switching on of the Christmas illuminations in the market square. Happens every year here. People line the streets to watch them go by, then follow on to watch the mayor light up the civic Christmas tree. Something catches in the throat, and prickles behind the eyes. A peaceful and joyous Season to us all :)

Good morning, I’m smoking a 2 year old home mix of 3 Sails, C&D White Burley and PS 313 Oriental, originally blended as a RYO. CC coffee black is the drink. My iPhone still refuses to autocorrect the word Oriental. I hate how software can be influenced by idiots. As if I don’t know that the word Oriental shouldn’t be used when denoting a person… I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Haha, anyway I hope everyone has a good day.

This is a celebratory smoke, gents! C&D Carolina Red Flake24 in a 1945-47 Peterson Pot (Shape 207). I’ve been working on restoring this one. Still have some work to do but I wanted to take it for a stroll.

The cause for celebration? I became a grandfather last night! 8lb 15oz baby boy! Both mom and baby are doing great and healthy as can be. View attachment 350588View attachment 350589
Congrats on the new addition to the family!

@Sandblast @MisterBadger

I think that those of us who feel our emotions are more fortunate than those that don't and gives us a better appreciation of this world we live in. I was watching programs as you were of tree lightings and singing and commented to my wife about the people in countries in this world that haven't advanced and live in horrible conditions and just how blessed we are.
And when I tear up when the American Flag passes in a parade and the band is playing or when I hear a beautiful Christmas Carol and I thank God for letting me cherish those moments.

All is right with the world so get out a handkerchief or tissue and pack a pipe puffy
