When I started smoking a pipe back in 2017 I bought a tin of Chenet’s Cake. Then I saw on the tin that I am supposed to age it for 10 years, so I put it in the cellar, and waited …

With so much discussion on Chenet’s cake going on by Ben and others, I thought why don’t I smoke it today. It is not 10 years yet, but close.

So smoking Chenet’s Cake from April 2017 in an AKB Meerschaum Lattice Volcano 🌋

It was too cold to smoke outside in Nova Scotia this past week. I only had one cigar outside while I was there. I brought a couple of my travel pipes with me, but didn’t use them. I’m back home now and going to rewatch some of UFC 309, Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic, because my Internet connection was very bad in Canada, making for a choppy, frustrating, unpleasant viewing of the event. I’m now having what I originally intended to smoke up north: Esoterica Tobacciana Margate in an unfinished Savinelli Series III 320 KS Author.

So ... we're right on the Eve of the Holiday Season ... warmth, family, friends, love & emotion filling us.
So ... I have to ask my Forum brothers = WTH's going on with you guys? Are you trying to choke me up?
Me = 3-year Veteran, US Army ... former MN Olympic Weightlifting Champ ... 10th Grade 148lb B-Squad wrestler who chose to "wrestle up" in Heavy Weight class savoring 1 min pins of 300lb opponents ... former Night Club "doorman" (bouncer) for 4 years during college ... (cough, cough -- sorry for the bio).
Then Sobrbiker posts old pic right after saving Bob from meat auction (SNIFF).
Then BenMN posts pic of his boy after serious health problem (SNIFF).
And I just watched Cable TV shows counting down tonight (Fri), then hitting the switch lighting huge Christmas trees (SNIFF).
Okay, took couple deep breaths, wiped a tear away, took another sip of good Canadian Whisky, then returned to excellent, awesome pipeful of Pegasus. Fireplace burning. Temp below freezing. Hot Turkey Lentil Rice Veg Stew went down & is sitting well. At this moment, all seems "right with the world".

Now smoking Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend. Never got to cleaning pipes because I spent time feeding the ferals. Sleepy Suzy is eating now, and Molly Danger ate in the bedroom. After Suzy eats, I'll let Tomato the Brave in to eat. I also unloaded the dishwasher, and loaded it up back up again since m'lady did a lot of cooking today. Gonna get to those pipes soon. I may end the day with this smoke as well.

EMP in the MM Legend to start what looks to be a very dreich weekend. It's sleeting and howling outside and, as invariably happens when we have a rare wind from the east coast, raining inside too. Just one leak by the window so far, old kitchenpot fulfilling its annual role. Not such a fine view of the firth today View attachment 350763
@SmokeyJock Yes staying in this weekend due to the weather warnings; not spending any money and no booze!

Its pretty nippy today. Its sunny and they say its going to warm up. I dont know if I believe them. Lighting up some Petes DNR in a Kia Dublin. This may become a dedicated pipe for this blend. Its the perfect size for one coin and an hour smoke. When I first tried this tin of DNR I would have swore it had DFK. After airing out a few days it settled in nicely.

Surely this weather calls for some mulled wine?
@SmokeyJock Giving the booze a rest this weekend:) Staying over at Buxton Crescent next week after the storm has passed. Aiming to save 10 pounds a week over the next 2 years; I won't be eating out so often after the New Year. Need to keep saving!
