Yeah, I know... yesterday evening, blast after blast of tractor horns sounded down the road outside, and a procession of assorted motorised farming vehicles, all decked out with lights, from all the neighbouring farms for miles around, drove past on their way into town to inaugurate the switching on of the Christmas illuminations in the market square. Happens every year here. People line the streets to watch them go by, then follow on to watch the mayor light up the civic Christmas tree. Something catches in the throat, and prickles behind the eyes. A peaceful and joyous Season to us allSo ... we're right on the Eve of the Holiday Season ... warmth, family, friends, love & emotion filling us.
So ... I have to ask my Forum brothers = WTH's going on with you guys? Are you trying to choke me up?
Me = 3-year Veteran, US Army ... former MN Olympic Weightlifting Champ ... 10th Grade 148lb B-Squad wrestler who chose to "wrestle up" in Heavy Weight class savoring 1 min pins of 300lb opponents ... former Night Club "doorman" (bouncer) for 4 years during college ... Then Sobrbiker posts old pic right after saving Bob from meat auction (SNIFF).
Then BenMN posts pic of his boy after serious health problem (SNIFF).
And I just watched Cable TV shows counting down tonight (Fri), then hitting the switch lighting huge Christmas trees (SNIFF).
Okay, took couple deep breaths, wiped a tear away, took another sip of good Canadian Whisky, then returned to excellent, awesome pipeful of Pegasus. Fireplace burning. Temp below freezing. Hot Turkey Lentil Rice Veg Stew went down & is sitting well. At this moment, all seems "right with the world".
