Ever have one of those pleasant surprises and the name does not match the taste. I decided to try a tin I have been avoiding. “Black Frigate”. Being Latakia forward it sounded like it was going to be so strong that only pirates could handle it. Upon opening the tin note reminded me of heavy peated Islay Ardbeg 10. Bandaids and medicine. My fears raised a notch. But dang it’s mild and sweet and I can pick up notes of the rum (slightly). What a pleasant smoke perfect for an after dinner treat.
