Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2012 Anniversary Kake in a smooth burgundy medium bend 1979 Chippendale (Charatan second) Rhodesian 49 with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Smokes as well as a first and worth the $19.95 I paid for it all those years ago. Had a good chat with my old college room mate. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Having L. J. Peretti Tashkent in an L. J. Peretti Straight Grain Smooth Pot (I have my suspicions that this may be a Savinelli Straight Grain 106 from the 1960s based on the stamping). Inspired by @AreBee ’s Syroco Chair Pipe Stand and @PaulRVA ’s little rug, I decided to make a little living room set-up of my own.

Jim,
What’s the story on this pipe?
It’s one of my favorites posted here.
It’s as if it has a soul and it absolutely has swagger!

Middle Tennessee
Afternoon storms rolling into middle Tennessee. Supposed to be pretty severe so I just put the horses up in the barn for the evening. Then I fed the dogs.
Thought I would relax before it hits hard with some Peterson Early Morning Pipe in one of my Bones bent pipes. This one was raw and I put a walnut stain on it and I kinda like the way it looks. For my beverage, I am having some coconut water. I've developed a taste for it and it's pretty refreshing.

Friday evening I started a nice bowl of Tashkent in my Falcon meerschaum chimney bowl, but only got to smoke 1/4 of it before storms drove me inside. The weekend turned hectic, so I didn't get to finish the remaining 3/4 bowl until yesterday afternoon. Maybe it was abstaining from smoking all weekend, or the tobacco sitting and drying, but the smoke was exceptionally cool and tasty, much better than I remembered from Friday.

Afterward, I enjoyed a bundle cigar I'd purchased last month, an Odyssey Connecticut. I didn't expect much, since it was a bundle cigar and because I had to glue the wrapper after I clipped the head, but it turned out to be a nice, mild yet tasty stick. If I smoked more cigars, I'd be tempted to buy a bundle.
Interesting. A few years back when I started pipe smoking I wanted to have a smoke while playing golf like many do with cigars. In order to be prepared and not forget I loaded a cob gentlemen with Amphora Virginia, stuck it in my bag pocket, and forgot about it. A few days later I lit it up on course and it was amazing sweet and bready. It was like candy. I dont know if it was the weather, my mood, food, beverage, my swing, or what but it was special. I found myself making ummm ummm noises it was so good.

Paul, I gotta say, the "little rug" is really a great touch to your photos. Where are you and @TheIronMonkey getting those things? They are really cool and I can foresee them becoming a needed pipe accessory right along with a lighter and a tamper..... :col:

I got mine from Royal Meerschaum for $4.99, but it doesn’t have fringe. There are much better 1/12 dollhouse scale ones available for more, which I think I may end up getting (along with an electrified lamp).

Can search Amazon or similar for mini persian carpet mouse pad. Many choices, patterns, and colours.

It came from a Pen store in Wash DC. My wife bought it for me for my desk at work when she was picking up some refills for my pens while shopping. It’s actually a mouse pad.
When I retired a few years ago I plopped it down in my home office and it became a soft place to drop a pipe.
