The Gentleman From Richmond
Hello Paul --- Well, that's the answer that I've wondered about having seen the picture for last couple years. It always caught my attention, since it (he) looks very similar to some pics of my (passed on) Uncle Rob, a 33-yr St Paul MN Police Officer. Is the car a '49 or '50 Ford?
BTW, I have a special feeling for VA, having lived there for almost 3 years = Northern VA right across the Potomac from DC. I also spent time during my US Army days stationed for nearly a year at Ft Lee. Drove through Richmond couple times when visiting Williamsburg & Petersburg. DC area is my special vacation spot, incredibly so much interesting & SO MANY excellent restaurants.
Next visit, I should try to get to Roanoke to visit Milan Tobacco.
Hey, it’s a 1950 Ford.
I spent some time in DC and Hampton Roads with the Army and Later the Air Force myself so I understand the sentiment. I ended up in Richmond after the Gulf and stayed with an Agency here till retirement. I love DC as well and seriously considering moving there but the freedom of the country in the outskirts here and the cost have kept me from it. Milan is worth a stop and so Is Georgetown if in DC.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2014 FVF in a straight smooth brown year 1923 Dunhill A billiard 60 patent March 9.15 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Watching the Dodgers-D-Backs game. Harry the Hairy came in to eat, and when he finished, he came to den, saw Molly Danger and immediately wanted out. Gotta give the fella credit for knowing when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.

A bowl of Mac Baren Original Choice in a Savinelli Mattone 614 faux-Hungarian to end the day, paired with a Sam Smith organic lager. Had to grab an extra layer for the cold and wind...never seen such weather in mid-May, but I ain't complaining by any stretch. 9/10

Bird report: California towhee, House finch, California quail, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, American crow, Sharp-shinned hawk, Western bluebird, Mountain chickadee, Northern flicker, Hairy woodpecker, and White-breasted nuthatch.

Catching up on a glut of Peter Schiff videos I am behind on. :poop: is going DOWN! 🍿

Half way through this bowl of year 2014 Esoterica Tilbury in a straight smooth Danish gold straight grain undated W.O. Larsen Hand Made in Denmark dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Fed three ferals without any trouble. Tomato the Brave was extra hungry tonight. He's eaten more than usual today.

Just one further smoke this evening, the final break-in smoke of my Ropp J06, with Smokers' Pride Whiskey Tobacco. I'll do the same tomorrow first smoke with the Mr. Brog Nosewarmer, give them a few days rest, and begin smoking Borkum Riff Dark Cavendish in both in both for final break-in, before assigning them their final placement in rotation.

In the mean time, I'll be getting in panic mode for our mail service - the Canada Postal Workers begin a walkout-strike this Friday. Hoping that my Rhodesian Meer arrives before then. The newly ordered black Mr. Brog Nosewarmer will not.

Last rotating strike lasted 35 days before the workers were ordered back to work. Who knows what will happen to mail stored back east for however long this stuff will last. :( :(

Our bird count up north is down considerably. My sister, who has a feeder, has commented that not one nuthatch (my fave) has appeared so far. Nothing in my area, either, except the same pair of crows that nested in my spruce trees are back again . . . I like them, and feed them. They seem to relish the dog food and cat kibbles (Ricoh wouldn't eat dog kibbles, only cat kibbles) leftover from his departure. It's been a cold spring so far, but not the worst I've seen. Rained a lot lately, and when it stops and warms up, the Luftwaffe will come in waves. Pretty much surrounded by swamp, about 3/4 of it reclaimed for housing.

Now smoking year 2000 SWRA in a straight smooth 2024 Peterson Red Killarney 264 Canadian with metal accents around the shank and a black acrylic p-lip stem. First time smoking this pipe that I was gifted today from a generous piper who knew that I wanted a Peterson 264 with a p-lip. I have a big pipe and a smaller pipe for this blend, and wanted a pipe in the mid-range. I think it's appropriate to smoke a classic blend in a classic pipe shape. Stole the photo from Smoking Pipes because I couldn't get the color right when I tried to photograph it. Watching the replay of the Orioles-Brewers game.
