Evening all, I’m having some Cabbies in a brown leather covered bent Longchamp, at the moment. I have some Savinelli Janus lined up next in a Lacroix meer lined bent two star.
Now smoking year 2017 Savinelli Doblone d’Oro in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. A cup of hot tea is my drink.

PS Luxury Bullseye Flake in a MM Cob. Followed by opening "three-month jar-aged" GL Pease Westminster in an Upshall P smooth big bowl/thin shank Dublin quarter bent with tapered stem. Nice tobacco. Have Quiet Nights and Cairo to try.

Not far from finishing this bowl of Watch City Blue Ridge Special in a 2012 smooth reddish brown medium bend Peterson 03 Red Spray apple silver spigot with a tapered black acrylic fish tail stem.
What were the noticeable differences throughout the respective eras?

It's been noted that in 1944 there was a tooling error and in that year both a forward and backward slash stampings is to be found, i.e. /34 and \34 (this only in '34).
(bought at the auction of Tony Irving's House of Pipes in 1990 and the only pre-owned Dunhill I've ever bought)
Quite a bit chunkier than standard size 'Prince' pipes of the 1930s:-
