A leather wrap? How does that work out vs other pipes?
Leather wrapped pipes were pretty common at various times in the past. The initial idea behind them was to make use of briar pipes that had fills or cosmetic issues that reduced their desirability. They smoke just like any other briar pipe. Many of us here own them, and I own several myself.

Always such a luxurious backdrop to your pics, and also, a luxurious pipe!

Thank you. I figure it only takes an extra minute or two to set up the cloth, so why not make the pic a little better than just shooting it on the bed, which I used to do. I originally bought the cloth to cover some foam to use at the bottom of my Colossus Pipe Factory copper and glass humidor from the early 20th Century to use as a small display case for some of my C.P.F. tobacciana. It didn't take much cloth and the amount left over was big enough to use as a backdrop.
