Thanks!
@CoffeeAndBourbon Definitely my style of pipe; I'll have to get one! Thanks!
I think it is supposed to be a representation of the crusades. One side is a knight and the other a bishop. Just a guess though
Unless I'm mistaken, I don't see that you've posted any pictures of Trevi Fountain. When I was in Rome about 16 years ago, the fountain was being dredged so I didn't get a chance to see it in operation. Also, when you went to Pompeii, did you have a chance to get to Sorrento, Capri or the Amalfi Coast? If so, would love to see some pictures. After dinner GLP Stratford in my Briarworkhorse.
It seems as if every corner you turn, there is something amazing to see in Rome.

I wish you'd consider consolidating all these great photos into its own thread. I'm sure a lot of people who don't follow this thread would love to see them.Regent Street again while walking to Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano. This is the first Roman church (304AD) where the Pope is bishop, Lateran was the Papal residence until Middle Ages. Had Scala Santa- steps Jesus walked up to meet Pontius Pilat and has his blood. One cannot touch the steps and can ascend upon the wooden cover only on their knees.
