As a fun forerunner to the Falcon and pipes of that ilk - mid 1930s onwards - the Lady's Leg or 'Can-Can' pipe with screw bowl and reservoir to trap saliva and retain it in an absorbent ring was the most popular of the novelty designs.

Early 20th cent. example with removable wind cap exhibiting far greater detail in the moulding than later examples from the 1920s/'30s
"The original stem design was created in Germany in 1903 and stayed in production until around 1920 when cheaper imitations and a decline in this novelty pipe line led the company to cease active production of these stems"

Watching KIND HEARTS AND CORONETS

Alongside a couple of Lady's Leg pipes from the Art Deco period and a couple of same shape modern clays - one by John Pollock & Co. (1879-1992) from 1980 and the other by Rex M. Key of Broseley from 2010:-

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, meatloaf and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I have about a third of a bowl left of year 2001 VaPer Three Nuns in a 1938 straight black grain relief Dunhill OX Shell bulldog with a silver band repair with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

I had mentioned during dinner that one of these days, I'd like to have some chocolate pudding. I didn't realize it, but m'lady took that to heart and made some while I was enjoying my last smoke. So, after a cup full of hot chocolate pudding, I am nearing the half way mark on this bowl of year 2010 Full Virginia Flake in a straight 1968 Dunhill Shell bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. I really have a special, thoughtful lady.
