MacBaren HH Bold Kentucky in a Savinelli Series III lumberman with Earl Grey. So far in my tea sampling, I like the Earl Grey, but I am afraid the subtleties of plain tea may be lost on me. The Sencha and English Breakfast types haven't done much for me.. Going to try some Lapsang Souchong and Puerh to see if they might have enough flavor my coffee-fried, Luddite palate.

I'm intrigued by the series 3 and the way they naturally color when smoked.

This is the second one I've owned and both have been good. The first one was scarred all up with fills, but this one only has a couple. They tend to.color nicely, aside from the fills which retain kind of a sickly pinkish color. Great value for the price. At some point I'd like to get a Radice pure just for a nicer, cleaner version of the same concept.

Hello to all the good people!
First bowl today, with Weinig no 7, one of the "own blends" that are made by the tobacco house/store "Weinig", based in the small but so pretty town of Bamberg, in Bavaria, Germany. You will easily find Weinig if you ever visit Bamberg, it is close to the "old city" part which is very well preserved and makes you feel that you have travelled through time, many centuries back or you are in a... fairytale.
The description says: virginia, burley, black cavendish and vanilla toping. Strange... I get something closer to chocolate. Anyway, I find that the substances are very well combined, the cavendish comes forth supported by the others and the blend has a strong and lasting aftertaste. Also the price is just 8 Euros/50 gr. I will have it again!
The pipe is a "Canasta", the lower cost series from the Italian "Ardor", the stand is a "Mr Brog" from Poland.
Enjoy your moments, life is short!
