I find the balance of Virginia to perique to be just right.
And it smells great.

Last night, C&D Tuggle Hall, a burley-based English blend, in a Joh's semi-rusticated Lovat (straight of course). Nice compact briar pipe with a deep chamber, plenty of chamber and lightweight. We made a necessary run to a nearby city yesterday and picked up Mexican take-out from Tiendia Carniceria, enchiladas de mole. our favorite.
We always get the cane sugar Coca Cola from them to bring home.

Part way through this bowl of Dan Tobacco The Mallard Flake Plus Perique in a 2021 medium bend black sandblasted Peterson Newgrange 80S bent bulldog silver spigot with a tapered reddish brown with black stripes acrylic stem. It's still raining. Hope it stops long enough for me to get some walking in today.

Are you working on a review for the “unreleased Sutliff BVF”?

No. It's not going to be released. Like the unreleased Black Virginia (which is better, actually), I believe it was an early prototype for another blend and they apparently felt this didn't live up to the standard for what they were looking for. They had a bag of it laying around, and instead of throwing it out, they gave it to me. I like it, but I can see why they rejected it: uncomplicated and fairly mild. I find it is a comfortable Va., and am happy to smoke it.
