Compliments of @SBC , I’m smoking Apr 2012 C&D Night Train in the Altinay Rusticated Dublin Meer. Cup of strong black Kenya tea accompanying.
I’m not sure how this would smoke fresh out of a new tin, but first impression is very favorable - bold, smooth, subtle pepper and some woodsy-smokiness going on. I keep sipping along looking for some more subtle sweetness from the Virginia’s, but they seem fleeting . The black tea with a little of sugar is going well with this also.

Going to put my clays and baccy in the loft for over Lent to resist the urge to smoke a clay pipe.
Do you think the Clay King will miss his clays and baccy???
Need to avoid going to the pub except on days out to resist the urge to smoke as well:)
I'd like to learn to light my clay pipes with flint & steel & a slow match to reduce my use of my cheap made in China lighters. Got 2 refillable lighters (1 Clipper, 1 BIC - both made in Spain) but I've never refilled lighters before...
I think lighting my pipes with flint & steel or a slow match would be more historically correct!

Old Toby loosely packed with a few strands of Newminster 400 in a Comoy London Pride 215 bent billiard (22x52mm chamber). Learning to properly smoke the Peterson second XL339S has helped me slow down and sip slow enough to enjoy the Comoy which similarly, has a wide open draw. A pipe I once rarely smoked is now enjoyable.
