6 year old C&D Kajun Kake in a 2017 Jumbo Boswell Black Coal Bent. I haven’t smoked this pipe much since I bought it, but it’s got a huge chamber and a long smoke of KK is perfect this evening.
Arrived this afternoon from a week-long work retreat in the northern forestland. I smoked very little and very apprehensively as there was an extreme dry weather alert and all outdoor sources of flame were prohibited. Pondering the still majesty of the wood and rivers as I enjoy my first bowl of Vauen #14 in a Barlings Make.
Relaxing after a wonderful salad, French cut pork chops and green beans dinner with a small scoop of French vanilla ice cream for dessert. I've about a quarter of a bowl left of year 2013 Dunhill Flake in a straight smooth 1960 Dunhill DRA 137 group 4 root briar canted dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
War Horse Green in an AKB Meerschaum Lattice Volcano ?. One of my first pipes and there was a time I smoked this a lot. Taken some color, but I smoke this a lot less now, as the bowl size is small
A quarter of the way through this bowl of D&R Raccoon’s Delight in my very reliable smooth straight WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson Sterling Canadian with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Going to work now.
Outside out on the porch enjoying the cool post rain breeze, again with the Kaywoodie Silhouette Rhodesian pipe with relief grain. Trying it now with match Walnut and so far this combo is an absolute winner.
Half way through this bowl of year 2010 Kramer’s Blend For Cary Grant in an undated unbranded straight black sandblasted short shank billiard with a long black vulcanite tapered stem.
Listing this early so I can concentrate on work for a bit: year 2018 Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a 1982 smooth straight Dunhill Root Briar 31051 Dublin with a black vulcanite tapered stem.
Mac Baren Vanilla Cream in an MM cob. A few weeks ago I posted some negative commentary about this blend. Thought it was bitter and biting - hardly sweet at all. While I still find that it can bite a little if I’m not careful, I am thoroughly enjoying tonight’s smoke. Maybe it’s the cob? Maybe because it sat a while? Whatever - this time I get the not-too-sweet but pleasing vanilla and honey, plus an occasional hint of fruitiness that might be almost like berries. Of course the draw from the cob is open and excellent. Yes, the Vanilla Cream just got bumped up a notch or two on my list and in my rotation. Cheers!
Did a little snacking, and am a third of the way through this bowl of Wilke No. 24 in a smooth straight brown 1949 Yello-Bole Century Model Lovat with a nickel band accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem.
Just finished work, feeding the cats, and this bowl of Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem.
