Afternoon everyone, after losing out on the Ornsby Pipe the other day I had to get my fix somewhere else. This beauty is my consolation prize. Apparently the gentleman who originally owned this (and many others) worked for GBD between 1920/50, most of the pipes the seller had were GBD and dateable to that period. However a few, like this one, had no markings whatsoever and the seller believed them to be prototypes for the company that didn’t make it through committee. Whether it is or not the quality is beyond doubt. 7 1/2 inches of gorgeous grain and birds-eye.image.jpgimage.jpg
Inaugural smoke was Solani Yellow Label, it couldn’t have been smoked more than a few times before this.

Sillem’s is the old, John Aylesbury is the new.

I contacted them, but I forgot why he name change.

I have a tin of JA Black, really nice stuff!

@LotusEater John Aylesbury appears like it’s going to be around.

Boswell’s has it; JA

SPC is actually showing a Sillem’s tin;

Thanks for the info PipeIT!
Glad to hear JA Black is going to be around
It has become my go to
I’m smoking it now and if I had more I’d be smoking it all day.
