Pretty cool watches - we have some diverse tastes!

I ended up selling my Yema Superman. I tried a Wolbrook Skindiver, but didn't realize it didn't have a screw-down crown. I'm in/out of the water all summer and need at least pool resistance (100m/screw down crown).

I kind of wanted a non-diver, quartz for convenience of occasional use, but really found none that fit the bill.

I stumbled on this Borealis Icarus, a new model for this micro-brand. I've owned two Borealis in the past, they are quite well built, with swiss-made movements. This one is 39 mm, swiss automatic movement and Cerakoted, I like the look. So, this is on it's way to me from Portugal.

Uuuuugh, I miss my watches... as I set here viewing these with a stupid Apple Watch on. I like tracking my heart rates and activities, but I miss the actual watch part. I wish Apple or someone made a sports/ heart monitor that didn't have to be worn on the wrist.

Handsome. I had a Kromandikie from the Soviet era. His face was cracked and his needles damaged. I bought the new face, needles and rubber bands and had them changed. Years ago I sold it along with the original parts.1581334946942.jpg

My Fitbit is way off on steps registered. I read that you can switch to non dominant wrist and not change it in the app to get a more accurate read. Don’t know if Apple has similar algorithms or not. It might also feel weird with something on both wrists?‍♂️

I used to try to wear my first fitbit on my ankle, but it didn't read my heart rate very well there. BTW, I miss my Versa 2 fitbit. They are way better than the Apple Watches, and cheaper.

Not to go too far OT. I just bought a Charge5 on sale at Costco, jury is still out, but I can see it could be addicting. Like you I will have to break for watch time?Especially with a new one on the way!

I have a heart monitor strap that goes around my chest for the treadmill. I don’t know if there any watches that it works with.

I enjoy looking at watches, there some really nice ones I would like to own. Remember the WIDE leather bands in the 70’s? Watches always seem to end up irritating my wrist.

I love the individuality shown here, some great watches!

I've always loved the look of the Citizen Ray Mears "ProTough" line - smaller face, 300m, screw-down crown, Titanium, Sapphire crystal, Eco-Drive motor. But, they were only sold in the UK so rarely seen here. I picked up a one year old example a few weeks ago. They come with a riveted canvas strap. But, I love the convenience of rubber, to it is on a grey rubber strap from AliExpress.

I semi-retired my 30 year old Seiko diver.
