@woodsroad No where in that article did it say that you can become immune to an allergy, but of course allergies and immunity are linked. But, you cannot become immune to something that you have an allergy to in the way that you suggest in your post above.

I have been around all sorts of pigweed varieties, also known as amaranth. But in my 50's have become allergic to it.
also, my newly found metal allergies come from being exposed to nickel for so long.

Unlike immunity to germs and diseases, exposer to allergen do not heal an allergy.

They don't work the same way.
My point is that early childhood exposure to allergens can reduce the risk of sensitivity. I am not claiming that allergies, once they manifest themselves, can be cured by additional exposure.

Maybe, but closer to old wives tales. My grandfather told us when were young that if you didn't want to ever be allergic to poison ivy, take small bites of it until desensitized. I never tried it, but my friend did, and his parents were pissed.

You wouldn't think that I wouldn't have an allergy to the most common weed in fields around here after working them all of my life. Now...

Anyways, there's just more to all of it than we think. But, children should be outside. Parents that let kids set on gaming platforms all day long should be shot, IMO. Not because games make kids into serial killers like we were told, but because life should be spent outside, exploring, and doing outside stuff.

Personally I'm not sure if that plays a part unless your hands are especially dirty. If you've seen some tobacco processing factories it's essentially all on the floor pressed in cast iron boxes that look to be a hundred years old. Trick I've found over the decades is to not pack tightly or pack at all below the air inlet at the bottom of the bowl. Pack a bit tighter as you go up. The draw in this way remains effortless throughout the smoke.
At about 6am every day my first pipe of the day has a particular flavor.
This is immediately after feeding, mucking and milking our cows. :)

I wonder what does cause all those allergies?

What's causing the 1000% increase in heart attacks?

Wondering about stuff like that will surely get this strange thread shut down.
A truly massive amount of vaccines administered to an underdeveloped immune system in a very short period of time combined with lots of chemicals in food and said food being stored in plastic much of the time probably doesn't help. 1 in 8 black kids have asthma. 1 in 30 Americans being born have autism. Europe doesn't have that problem, and American didn't have that problem until the 1990's. What are the differences between Europeans and Americans. Analyzing that ought to pinpoint some issues. Let's not forget that time we poisoned the whole earth with lead from leaded gasoline, and we are still dealing with the ramifications of that.

America started having obesity issues around the same time as tallow was swapped out for seed oils and corn syrup replaced sugar in everything. I suspect smart phones have also contributed to the problem by causing people to be more sedentary.

Heart attacks? Yes, it is odd that so many young healthy people are dying like flies. And only in the last five years.... A statistical improbability and a medical mystery. I'll leave it at that. A close friend of mine died in her sleep of a heart attack three days after getting her first COVID vaccine shot. Related, unrelated? Who knows?

Americans are fat because they sit on their ass, drive everywhere and supersize everything. It aint a vaccine. Thats the dumbest thing Ive heard today.

Europeans are getting fat because they are starting to do the same.

Hell, in France when you Used to get directions from a local they considered walking distance two plus miles
