I vote for the Friday start per Brass' last post but will accede to any other schedule if the majority has different ideas. So starting on Friday 8/1 gives us 8/1-7, 8/8-14, 8/15-21,and 8/22-28.

Thank you CmdrMcBragg

I'll do my best then as Tin Master. I would like to say that my idea of the tin share is to have a max of 4 guys splitting the month's list. It spreads the cost well and would leave enough for everyone to sample for the week.
I would prefer those PMing me to be those who are on a budget.

Count me in!
This a an awesome idea!
I currently have 3 of the 4. I would have suggested Peterson Irish Flake for an extreme there, but I've yet to try perfect Plug so I'm pretty stoked about that one.

Welcome, Jeremy. You're drafted to the November Selection Team. I'll have to think about the threads. We have an August thread, which is for discussing the August Crawl, and likewise one for September. I guess I'll keep a running list going in both places.

Welcome, Pruss. You'll be number one in December, unless someone drops out for some reason. Everyone please realize, we might have to make some adjustments as we go along.
Anyone can join in at anytime and smoke as few or as many blends as they like. Declaring your membership gives you an official voice in the blend selection and theme planning. Procure your selections from your favorite vendor, your cellar, or swap samples with fellow tobacco crawlers. PM CmdrMcBragg, our TinMaster for sharing assistance.

Well, in the meantime, just join in for as many or as few blends as you like, as many times as you like. As a preferred PipesMagazine member, I'm sure you'll have some serious, experience informed opinions of the blends that we will be tasting. On with the Crawl.

I am still in the group but being a newbie to pipes, tobacco, and to some extent forums I am simply hanging on trying to follow the plans. Great work and ideas so far. I have a tin of the OBF on order so I will be on for week one of the August. I doubt I will get all four for the month. My goal will be to sample two each month.

That's the idea, Stosho. Try as few or as many blends as you like. PM CmdrMcBragg if you want to some tin sharing down the line. Thanks for coming along.

Hi Settersbrace: If you don't mind, please explain what a dark-stoved Virginia is, for those of us less informed. The cool thing about the crawl is learning about the blends.
Our crawlers may want to extend our 101 crawler for neophyte smokers, e.g. exploring the major blend classes, to a second month, and the dark-stoved Virginias may fit in. But I'm thinking that we might want to finish at least one crawl before setting October in stone. The tobacco we taste may influence the direction we would want to take. However, that is just a soft opinion. If our club wants to start setting the menu now, I'm for it.
Pax
