Royal is wonderful. You'll like Omega
Have some of that, but it doesn't blow my skirt up like the other two you listed.

Watch City Cigar makes some good English blends also. I've had Ahabs Comfort and Noreaster and found them to my liking though they are a bit heavy on the Latakia.Have some of that, but it doesn't blow my skirt up like the other two you listed.
I haven’t yet tried any “Match” tobacco. Can you enlighten me on the Match blends? Who actually makes Match? Why should one try them? I’ve been seeing them more and more.I just remembered another English I tried around Xmas and thought I’d pass it along.
I found it on the Pipes & Cigars website, and it’s very affordable. It’s their MATCH My Mixture 965. I actually like it better than MM 965, tbh, and I really enjoy MM 965. But to be fair, I’d have that this particular match blend is in name only. IMHO, they smell and taste quite different.
Here’s the dif:
MATCH is a little less smoky, and the brown cavendish is much sweeter and more forward. It’s super tasty, and to my mind, smells exactly the way I remember the tobacconist shop smelling when I was a young boy in the early 80s and would go in with my dad.
And while is sweeter and less robust, I don’t mean at all to say it’s not robust, or that it’s leaning towards an aromatic. It’s an excellent smoke, and I was happily surprised.
Now I need to order more.
Best of luck.

I’m not 100% sure who exactly makes them. Someone with more knowledge of the industry than I have can hopefully answer that one. I assumed it was blenders who either worked for the businesses who sell them, or either they all buy them bulk from some blenders who specifically work in trying to match popular blends.I haven’t yet tried any “Match” tobacco. thank you for your info.
Thank you. That’s great information to keep in mind.I’m not 100% sure who exactly makes them. Someone with more knowledge of the industry than I have can hopefully answer that one. As for why should buy them, all I can do is tell you why I bought the few I have: Because they’re quite a bit cheaper. For example, 2 ounces of Match Nightcap is only around $3-$4, verses $15-$20 for the tin of the same size of Peterson’s Nightcap.
Word of caution tho; of the match blends I’ve tried, I wouldn’t necessarily say they’re matches. Close. But not exact. Which is to be expected. So in my mind, I basically think of them more as “related” blends than identical twins.
Just arrived but I went with my open Mac Baren HH Old Dark Fired.Presbyterian
I know Sutliff has a bunch of "Match" lines in their bulk offerings, including Early Morning and 965.I’m not 100% sure who exactly makes them. I'll second the recommendations for both - Ahab's Comfort (flake) & Nor'Easter (krumble kake).Watch City Cigar makes some good English blends also. I've had Ahabs Comfort and Noreaster and found them to my liking though they are a bit heavy on the Latakia.
hey no one has thrown me death threats for putting pineapple on pizza compared to the rest of the internet this place is amazing.
Some Constellation it is!!!I have been on a C&D Constellation kick lately, super cheap and can get it in bulk. Tack on a ounce or two on your next order!
Even though they might not match the original would they be good standing on their own?I know Sutliff has a bunch of "Match" lines in their bulk offerings, including Early Morning and 965.
