@sebastian. I'm still drawing up the plans, and gathering the materials. It will be nice. My biggest problem these days is my full-time job keeps getting in the way. Don't they realize I have things to do. Lol. I'm just happy my clients are patient fellow pipe smokers.

I'd rather wait patiently because it is gonna be so sweet! What is a few months when the outcome will be a treasured heirloom for generations to come?

Built This one over Christmas Vacation

Hey, that is pretty cool Archer! Steam-punkish!
We were goofing around flea markets last weekend. No pipes but I found this neat little corner rack for $9, to go above my smoking stand. It holds three of my favorite pipes and Westie stands. It fits in with our dining room furniture, which is also circa 1930's (hey, coincidentally the same age as that Comoy's) We have a lot of old Westie/Scottie dogs and one fits nicely on top to go with the theme.

The cigar box in the back is where I keep my snuff, the two in the front are baccy. The one on the left is for non-english blend, the right for english/balkan blends. I also have two unopened two year old tins of Balkan Sasieni:

Well, it isn't gonna be the biggest or the best, well , I think perhaps it will be the best to me anyway. It will months of collaboration and true piece of art when finished. I grew up around wood and adore the finer ones. They

seem to be more scarce as time goes on.
To give you a hint. It is cabinet or a place that a fellow and rest his hand on. Underneath will be a storage of my pipes. The design looks to be a 36 to 48 pipe cabinet. Something that has not been seen since the 1950's. At least not in a free standing floor design. Trust me , It will be ground breaking.
Until then, this is an old Walnut piece a picked up to tide me over, sitting on a Cherry Pennsylvania House serving table that my Mother gave me.

aj: what do you use to cut the u-shaped indention for the bottom bowl rest?

I just used my Dremel sanding tool to grind the u-shapes into the bottom. This wood was pretty soft, so it wasn't too terribly hard to do. It just needed a bit of control to shape
