@occidentalist nice blades! I’ve owned Gossman, Siegle, Carothers and Sargent but always moved them on. Never owned a Beck but looked at them many times.
Here’s a stag sowbelly and a pile of 1792 for the day

Gossman is probably my favorite maker. His knives are no nonsense. I hope he decides to go a bit thinner in the future. Thin is in!

Love Puukkos- I've got a second one coming from Rafael Trentin in Brazil.

Same here! Please post that Trentin when it arrives. Would love to see it.

Since you like puukkos, here's a Martti Malinen and a Malanika puukko/leuku he just finished for me recently.

Those are beauts! I think I see a Trentin in my future. That Celeron micarta is fantastic. Thank you for sharing!
He's great to work with.. AND he smokes a pipe! If you need his contact info just holler at me.

Pretty wicked combo this morning- Ban Tang hawkbill w/mosaic pins, and the CKF Barm.

Finally got the kids together for a Spyderco mule family photo. From left to right- blade of K294/canvas Micarta scales, blade of VG XEOS/burlap Micarta scales, blade of M398/vintage Micarta scales, blade of AEB-L/Ultrex G10 scales. In addition to screws or mosaic pins, all scales have been epoxied to the blade to prevent water from getting behind the scales and causing corrosion. These have been very fun and easy to make. They are all working knives, so I have spent minimal time on making them pretty.

One of the best purchases I ever made. Ex German Army issue pocket knife, made by Victorinox, better known for their Swiss Army knives, but these are about a tenth of the price. Part serrated blade with thumb hole allows you to open it out one-handed. there's also a saw blade, two screwdriver blades, a can opener, bottle opener and an awl. Goes everywhere with me.

Nice enough knife, but what's the pipe/maker? Super nice.

PS I may have missed it I didn't read the whole thread.
Few things are as classically masculine as the pipe. One of those heralded few is the pocket knife. I want to see what you're carrying (and smoking) today.
So let's see'em- show us your current EDC, fixed or folding, traditional or tactical.

I'm carrying a new knife today - the Maxace Peregrine. Going to put it through some paces at work. The blade is a jacketed ZDP-189, which is fairly uncommon in folding knives. I had to check it out. I've been impressed with the feel in hand too. Blindfolded id swear it was a Chris Reeve product- a Sebenza or Umnumzaan.

I was a bit of a Spyderco fan boy for a long time. Used to work 10 minutes away from the factory outlet store and visited frequently. I bought this Para 2 in CTS-20CP and light grey scales there, the day they brought it out of the production line and into the store for the first time. It was quite a few years ago.

The PM2 is unarguably a modern classic.
There's plenty to like about Spyderco. Functionality is above form in many cases, and they offer an ever-evolving selection of blade steels (with optimal heat treats).

In the UK, unless you're in the police or a criminal gang (spot the difference), we're not in general allowed to have:

1/ Gurns.
2/ Nahves.

I've been looking at pocket knives, with a view to getting a nice plug cutter, and the "UK carry illegal" notices are getting tiresome. No blade over 3", no locking blades, no this, no that.... I'm about sick of it. A Jamaican guy I used to work with years ago carried a "ratchet", with the teeth filed so it would flick open and lock in one move - now that would have been an ideal plug tool.
