I'd like to correct a mistake in the original postA couple of recent additions. Stanwell Shape 35 (and 935) canted egg designed by Anne Julie. Possibly my favourite Stanwell shape of all.
The smaller partially sandblasted is a Royal Danish (Stanwell 2nd line) Shape 935
The larger, saddle-stemmed smooth has no markings on the stummel, and stem markings are illegible from over-buffing. Impossible to know if it is a Stanwell, Scandia or one of their other 2nd lines.

Looks like a POTY- is there a year on the metal piece?I picked up this NOS, Made in Denmark Stanwell at the St. Louis Pipe show for $35. I don’t know anything about it but it sure smokes fine!View attachment 207354
There isn’t. Did Stanwell make pipes with blank engraving plates? I have seen one with initials before but didn’t know if it was common.L

Not to my knowledge - they used the same sandblast finish and metal piece either on top of the shank or on the side like yours (and mine below). They are fantastic pipes and one of my favorite briarsThere isn’t. Did Stanwell make pipes with blank engraving plates? I have seen one with initials before but didn’t know if it was common.
