I'm waiting for a Peterson that has gone radio silent with An Post as well but not nearly for as long. I'm however also waiting for a parcel to return to me that I sent to smokingpipes.eu with 14 pipes that I might sell to them that never got delivered. Both me and SPE had contact with An Post several times but they messed up at every turn. That experience is making me more worried about the Peterson pipe I'm waiting for since they clearly have problems.

Anyway, enough of my whining, congrats on your new pipe! :)
Your box of pipes should get there……eventually. I sent a box of estates to Dublin last year, it spent over three months (!) sat in Irish customs, before being delivered.
Too late for you now but if you buy again use the UPS shipping option at checkout. AN Post are an absolute joke at best.

I bought a few from Italy and can tell you Italian Post is also terrible. Then when it finally got to the US, USPS sent it to Florida, where I live, then to California where it's stuck at some distribution center. I will only order from international shops if they use FedEx or UPS.

Yeah, it arrived on ’ides of March’, AND I smoked it, so I guess I’ll need to time travel back for a Julius Caesar pipe to smoke tomorrow on SPD. Hmmm… I wonder if Cassius or Brutus has one?

If not, 2X the celebration works for me!

Been there on BOTH ends too… a few years back I sent a return to Dublin with a few pipes. Federica of Peterson informed me they never saw it, or refused it …they wouldn’t… Mt parcel languished at the post for 7 weeks and then started its slow journey back to me in Nevada. Mysterious things indeed do happen on the Emerald Isle.

Now where did I place that calendar??? Regardless-
Be well on this Patrick Caesar Saint Ides Day!

Sadly the parcel was already scanned for going back to sender so I'll have to wait for it to get back to me before I send it again. Since I'm in Sweden customs isn't a problem. Next time I send it I might have to use DHL instead. Unless that is too expensive. I already wasted around 30 euro.

The good news is that right after I wrote here that the pipe I'm waiting for was radio silent I got an update that I should be able to collect it today. :)

Been pretty busy and not here much lately, in fact, I had two boxes from SP EU that have sat unopened for some time. So …. opened!

I’ve been looking for an original shape Sherlock Holmes Junior for ages and found one! An estate with just a hint of use. Very pleased.

On the more “pedestrian” - I’ve also been looking for just the right Irish Harp - found one in a No. 68 (a favorite) and the main issue when looking is also a stem that has good color/swirly combo and this one they got just right, IMO.

Nice one!

Some months ago it would be among the last things I would imagine but the new Peterson rustication has grown on me enough that I plan on buying one.
Yeah, I'm just waiting for the right shape and rustication that clicks with me to show up on smokingpipes.eu. Probably one of the classic system shapes.
So this ended up happening, I think it was the day after the last post quoted here that I bought one. I received it today, Standard System 312.

The next time you do that I'll take the patch off your hands and I'll stitch it to a jacket or hat that would be a nice addition.
Yeah I thought about that myself but figured no one would want a 2023 POTY patch and it didn't look like it was very good quality. If it was full-grain leather I would've definitely saved it for that.

But yeah next time I won't destroy it now that I know what's inside and I'll (do my best) to remember to pass it along to you.

A few new Pete's showed up today. The St Patty's 2001 pipes was never smoked but needed some work. She looks really good now though.

I pulled out at 250 on that smooth, it looked like it had far too many dings and fills for the price, and no chamber pics.
There a two very small dings but nothing that cant be removed with a little steam and patience. I dont see a single fill on this pipe so it must've been the lighting on the pic the seller posted. It's in phenominal shape for being 39 years old.
