I can't take pictures of the silver stamp with my phone, and I can only make it out up close to my eyes. I'll have to see if I find a magnifying glass. Meantime, this drawing is the best I can do to show it. Seems like an "O" for 1980. But it seems a little tilted, and has what looks like apple stems from the top, but that could be scratches. And the other 2 are even worse and not legible at all. Also the wear gap is nearly gone, but seems functionally tight.
But look at that blast!
I was searching for a Mark Twain, which I don't know if I'll ever come across, but this found it's way to me.

zoom in with your cell phone camera, no flash, under a light, you'll get the hallmark up close.

Damn. There's nothing like zoom to make you see that you can't hold the camera still! That made me feel like I had the shakes, geez. This is the best I've got right now.

It does not quite look like the slated O for 1980, so I also think must be the stylized d for 1971.

Im +1 for the 1971. That mark looks like the stem on the "d" was over buffed/worn.
The hallmark for the "d" looks more italicized compared toe the "o" according to this chart, which would lend to a 1971 hallmark.

This book is a fantastic ‘step back in time’ & an absolute treat!
At just under 90 pages, there’s a lot more content than I was expecting. If you like pipes, you need to buy yourself a copy!

A big thankyou to my friend in the states who sent mine onto me.👍
I was going to buy "The Peterson Pipe: The Story of Kapp & Peterson" on smokingpipes.com and would possibly have bought this as well if I did but it turned out that the cheapest shipping cost to Sweden was $42 which is unreasonable to me. I bought the Sherlock Holmes book from there last year and the shipping was around $8.

Surprised they don’t sell this on SPE.
