That's gorgeous, I can see why you had to have it. That thick, chunky shape is sweet. That Linkman's I posted above is as it arrived in the mail, I couldn't believe the shape it was in and got it for next to nothing.
Any guess as to the unstamped bulldog?

a Linkman stamped Grabow is roughly pre- early 1940's?

Stampings Timeline

Left - LINKMAN'S (over) Dr. Grabow , 5/8” wide, 3/16” tall, c1932-40?, until 1943?

Right - De Luxe (over) BRUYERE, 9/16” wide, 3/16” tall, c1937-40, until 1943?

Looks a lot like the second one.

I think you're right Tyler. Top right looks like it to me. I'm not great with dating the Grabow's.
Here is my first Grabow poker. I just finished this one up a few weeks ago. It's only stamped Imported Briar, but it's undoubtedly a Westbrook double carved. An orange spade would definitely be the icing on the cake for this one.

Dave, still, I ask....do you need an apprentice!
P.S. this was left out

top - Shield emblem, stamped, c1943-46, and as early as 1940? (All with Propeller?) from same place.

@Davet- I really love that wire-carved rustication as well. I think that's what drew me in to buying two of the Stanwell brushed series; it's a very similar style.

Very nice additions guys! Davet,I agree with Tyler, your Linkmans look to be early 1940's. I believe only the "Select Grain" and maybe the "Tru-Grain" have the stamped spade on the shank.

DaveG,nice 85! Strange that it doesn't have a spade in the stem. Most unstamped pipes do. Love that 33!

Tyler, you may already be aware of this but the Regal was the last line to have the Ajustomatic after Grabow started phasing it out--in the early 90's I think.

I have a few, three Dr. Grabow Westbrook's, Bulldog , Bulldog round shank and Apple. I'm trying not to obsess but a pipe in each shape would be sweet.
That would be a lot of pipes! The Westbrook was available in about 75 different shapes- in two finishes.

Very nice all around guys. I have a duke, lark and Riviera as my first pipes. Nothing fancy theyre just my beat-around pipes now. Theyre also what I give friends to try when they want a smoke. A classic pipe.

Nice score Dave. Nice work too. That Eldorado is sweet. I was watching one just like that on ebag not too long ago, but I fell asleep at wheel and missed the final bid.

I do that all the time, insist on bidding in the final few seconds and miss it. The Eldorado is probably the worst of the bunch, rim charring and a hole in the stem. I'm loving those Authors, can't resist them. This one is good to go other than some dents and dings on the rim and a bit of charring. I'll get some more practice before I tackle these more thoroughly as they're keepers.

It should be bent. A former owner may have straightened it or it may have been left in a hot area and straightened out. Vulcanite does have some memory and will straighten out if it gets warm enough.

A few more additions to the collection,
Supreme Author, nice small, little pipe
dscf10051-600x450.jpg

Starfire, very good shape, just needed a light cleaning
dscf10061-600x450.jpg

Silver Duke, very good shape
dscf10071-600x450.jpg

Duke,very nice shape
dscf10082-600x450.jpg

Grand Duke, another very nice shape
dscf10091-600x450.jpg

Silver Duke, very good shape other than a charred spot on the rim
dscf10101-600x450.jpg

I'm very pleased with this bunch, four of them are in awesome condition only needing sanitizing, of the other two, the Silver Duke is in great shape other than the charring on the rim, shame really. The little Supreme is a sweet little pipe, smaller than my other Authors but does need a good cleaning around the rim. Very happy

I sniped these a couple of days ago because of the Author, looking at the pics tonight I noticed the Bulldogs are two that I don't have, bonus! I haven't received them yet but looking forward to getting to work on them.
