Seconded. And welcome @nick24601 !

Cool fact about your daughter's birth year too.

I'll promote Cornell & Diehl tobacco any chance I'll get. Have you tried them? Many here like/ love their Bayou Morning, Exclusive, Chenet’s Cake, and Kajun Kake (all Virginia-Periques)
Next month I'm adding dunhill and gl peases telegraph hill to my tobacco order. I tried Bayou from them with the Arcadia perique and it didn't work for me, too much perique. Chelsea morning has the most perique I'd want in a blend. I found gawiths cabbie mixture too perique forward. Loved germains royal jersey.

I'm looking for something a bit more than golden slices, thats already in the rotation, which one of those blends do you think would work best for me given all that?

Thanks for the recommendation and any attempt at trying to help me out in advance

Ah maybe C&D is not the house for you then- they tend to be pretty Perique punchy. 20% on up to 50% in that Exclusive one.

I do really like Pease's Fog City line, which you probably know is made by C&D. Telegraph Hill is great, so is Fillmore but it has a pinch of Lat in there.

Sorry I can't comment much on others. I'm sure you'll find something nice to dedicate that Castello to eventually

Actually, ever tried Rattray's? They have a sort of Triumvirate of Va-Per plus dark fired (Gowri, Hal, Clunee)

Do you guys know if these Old Antiquari pipes are left natural or stained in a light tan? My uneducated assumption was that Natural Vergin pipes were always rusticated and unstained but both of these are labelled Old Antiquari.

Thanks! If the two I posted started natural then I'm impressed by how evenly they colored.

Yeah it seems like you'd be losing something in the bowl department there with that one to satisfy your weight requirements...

Also, my man, why? Why you gotta show me a Castello site I didn't know about before??? And tempt me...

Tough for me to say.

What I can say is yes, Natural Vergins are rusticated and unstained. However, there is variability between blocks. Most are yellow or even pinkish sometimes. But sometimes they can tend towards brown-tan

Unsmoked darker example:

Another factor that can affect appearance and color is wax, or lack thereof. In your examples, the top one seems waxed. The bottom seems unwaxed, excepting the "ring" of un-blasted briar where the shank meets the stem...

And of course as @BlueRidge has pointed out, sometimes Antiquari are left natural. If you look closely at the example he linked you will notice that the logo area was waxed, with some wax even making its way outside the oval. That area is gonna color up different from the rest of the pipe. Minutiae for sure, but then again perhaps of interest to some

Thanks for pointing out those details! I can see them now after your response.
