Two tins of Squadron Leader just arrived today! I'd been a fan years ago, and decided to add a little to the cellar once I found where to buy more. The tin on the left is my last one that I'd been saving for a special occasion, or something like that.

Now my quandary is what to do with the new tins between now and the time I smoke them. The date codes are from last year, and fondling them doesn't give me the same reassurance as my other vacuum-sealed tins, including the older tin of SL...

Brown Bogie Aromatic & Aniseed Brown Twist.
Despite settling on Rum Twist years ago, felt the urge to try something new. Brown Bogie wasn’t bad, just disappointing. The unscented works better for me. Aniseed Twist, different story altogether. Delightful savoury rather than sweet tasting twist. A big surprise to me & a new found ‘stonewall’ classic.
These sound wonderful! Are they new?

Finally bought a MM Dagner Poker for the barn (SP has been out of stock for some time). Threw in a 1.75 oz. tin of Vauen No. 14, which I see @hoosierpipeguy enjoying quite often on the WAYS thread. Read up about it on TR.com, and since it didn't raise my shipping price, it was a no-brainer to include that too. It's anyone's guess when I'll actually get around to trying it, but it should age nicely in the meantime.

On the other hand when you do try it and if it does blow your socks off, you might be cursing yourself for not buying more in the meantime..

Anyways, for me I'm hoping to have something to post in this thread soon. Just have to wait for my parcel to arrive, it's only been 6 weeks but hey who's counting..

PS
I must admit, if I decide to stock up on Va blends - hoosiers posts will be my go to.

P.S. Decided to buy some more half-pint canning jars, and just peel off the band-aidlids. I had to know! Thankfully, the seals were still good, but it only took a firm grip and pull to open the tins. The tobacco inside each was fragrant and felt nice to the touch. Whew. Now I can turn my worry to the seals on my new jars. 😅

The main theme of this month's big (for me) order is "Virginia blends to try/cellar". A few of the tins are from early 2021, even. :col:

P&C has a bundle deal going on for WhiteKnight and Bengal Slices, so it was a no-brainer to pick up a spare tin of WK and give Bengal Slices a try while I was at it!

Now that my cellar is over 5 lbs, I'm gonna let up on the gas a little. 😅

SP has 20% off on C&D so I grabbed 1 tin each of Blockade Runner, Black Frigate and Pegasus. Had Blockade yesterday, Frigate today, tomorrow will be Pegasus. Picked up a tin of Warped Scarecrow a few weeks back or however long it's been (got it a few days after it came out).

Scarecrow is the first aro I can add to my favorites. Blockade wasn't bad, it's fine, just feels like it's missing something, feels Navy cut-adjacent. Although Frigate adds Lat and oriental and is better than Blockade, it also feels like it's missing still something. Frigate feels English-adjacent rather than being a Lat-infused Virginia base, and kind of makes me want it to be a full on English. I think both could benefit from adding the right kind of burley and might try that at some point.

Other than those, I have others in my wishlist that I might acquire should therr be a sale, but I have plenty of tobacco to not have severe TAD.

I am with you on Blockade Runner. Just...okay. Black Frigate is a favorite. I grabbed an 8oz of that during the sale. I also grabbed a tin of Pegasus. That one is just okay, as well. One other I grabbed from that sale is Exhausted Rooster. I had that this morning and was tempted to buy an 8oz of that, but I think it will be fine to buy it at full price at some point. I am sure there will be other sales, too.
