Well the last time I smoked this particular blend the tin was rectangular and the flakes had a different flavour profile and by that I mean the chocolate notes were more predominant with fewer rough edges and a cool smoke.
Now the new iteration has a cloying licorice topping that killed it for me and I tried all drying stages also halfway through a bowl it starts to get a bit rough and burns hot.
Yeah I only have one tin of the Silver Flake and I heard it’s more orange VA than Red now so I wonder if the tin description will change says right on the cover Red Virginia and all the pics on the sites say that , but who knows , gotta hit the B&Ms and try to stock up what’s left. Sorry that you got 6 tins maybe you can trade it out on here?
I swung by Boswells yesterday and resisted the urge to buy a new pipe. Excellent visit as always. Love that store. 
Finally bought a MM Dagner Poker for the barn (SP has been out of stock for some time). Threw in a 1.75 oz. tin of Vauen No. 14, which I see @hoosierpipeguy enjoying quite often on the WAYS thread. Read up about it on TR.com, and since it didn't raise my shipping price, it was a no-brainer to include that too. It's anyone's guess when I'll actually get around to trying it, but it should age nicely in the meantime.

A bit of TAD and PAD in one photo, but have really been enjoying Black Frigate and also realized I was out of Bold Kentucky. Got plenty of ODF but somehow missed the fact my cellar contained 0 Bold Kentucky.

I love 558. Hated it the first time I tried it. All vinegar. Must have been a brand new batch. This batch has no vinegar and smells amazing. Unfortunately, I may have strep, so I won’t be able to try these until next week.
