Hopefully it wakes up over the next few days... keep us posted please
This can often be the case. I definitely notice a difference in a positive direction between an aged tin that is smoked right after popping, vs letting it sit for a week after opening.

The blends I smoke come in the pop top tin with plastic lid. I let them sit with the plastic lid in place and pop it now and again to circulate.

OK, so technically it's not a tin. But hear me out. Fall is upon us and it's time to break out some English blends. I decided to drag out some LJP Tashkent that was mylared in 2020. There has been plenty of discussion in the past as to long term storage of tobacco in mylar so I wanted to show some 4 years in. So far so good. The tobacco smells devine and it is at the same moisture level as the day it got bagged and sealed. That's a good thing since I have four 66L tubs of mylared tobacco.20240916_175736.jpg20240916_175749.jpg

Mylar works great, but I have seen the bags loose their seal if done incorrectly. As long as you use caution while bagging, you will be fine.
I'm a jar guy personally, but know many baggers.

Decided to pop a couple tins today.

First up, the Orcilla Mixture i had originally posted for sale. I've been curious about it for a while and was on the fence with whether or not to post it or smoke it. I have so much open tobacco and was already doing a lat-themed sale so it fit the bill. I figured if it sold for a good price i'd let it go and if not, i'd keep it. Win-win. So this morning i removed it from the listing and gave it a go.

Tried it both in a meer and a morta. I'll stick with the meer on this one, since the latakia is so light it wasn't able to shine in the morta, which usually does well with lat blends.

Next up, a newer tin of Penny Farthing. My storage space is getting limited and i only had one tin of this, so i decided to snag it out and put it good use. I really enjoy this stuff.

Orcilla was one of my earliest English blends tried so in my memory I loved it. I know I put away a few tins of it back then.
The meer brought out more flavor in this one, which i why i'll keep it smoking there. The morta, which usually gets along great with all the other lat blends i still smoke, just left it feeling a little light or even flat. I'm never satisfied if something comes across too light. My favorites are mostly med-full or full bodied offerings. So getting a bit more flavor and nuance out of blend in in the meer settled that score for me real fast. :)
