We'll have to respectfully disagree then Lord, I'll just say this: Crosby 2 world junior gold, Ovie zero, Crosby stanley cups one, Ovie zero, Crosby Olympic Gold medals one, Ovie zero (Stamkos not good enough to make that team then although a player I really like , Hull had to change citizenship to make a national team) as for individual awards, youngest player to 100 points, youngest player to 200 points, youngest player to 400 points, youngest captain to win the cup until Toews and still has more points than ovie over the last three years while missing more than half those games. By the numbers its just not a contest. Talk about Toews or Stamkos and you have a better argument, but their numbers pale in comparison they at least have some intangibles that make them great

I will agree that sometimes the media/nhl go overboard as hes not the only great player to watch.
As for teams win titles, I agree, but selfish one dimensional players never help their teams win, see ovi and hull. True greatness is measured by titles.

So we're in agreement that Thornton's two Cups makes him a better player than Crosby since Sid only has one? lol
My hats off to the Leafs. They played pretty well that game. Reimer stood on his head a few times. Should be an intense good Game 7 tomorrow night in Boston.

We're coming for your Sens Ghost, but seriously you can't take anything away from the Leafs on this, they're out playing and out skating the Bruins

I feel dirty after every game I pull for the Bruins. I had hoped this unpleasantness would be done by now.

Blues fans sorry, but our Kings woke up and are on their way to the next round. Bring on anyone doesn't matter. Roast duck or shark fin soup, we are ready for all takers. Go Kings. Time to repeat.

Sorry Pat, let me explain the order of how it works...
1- Leafs must always lose, no matter the circumstances.
2- After that all other Canadian based franchises must lose, unless a win by the Canadian team effects the division favorably for Ottawa. In the case of Montreal (within the division), they must always lose unless they are not in a playoff position. In that case, a win is acceptable only if it favours the Sens. As for Toronto, see #1.
3- Teams within the division can only be temporarily actively rooted for if they are playing the Leafs, for example the Bruins. Otherwise, all division rivals must lose. Exceptions occur when playoff seeding is involved or, in the case of the 2011 Cup Final, Boston had to beat Vancouver to appease rule #2, but in the case of Toronto see #1.
4- Teams that have beaten my team in the playoffs must lose. Unfortunately, Pittsburgh advanced but they are playing the Sens again. Teams in this category include Buffalo, Anaheim, New Jersey, Washington, Rangers, and see #1. Beating these teams in the playoffs does not negate rule #4, it exists in perpetuity as does #1.
5- The last category is a potpourri category involving hated players. If Matt Cooke gets traded to Dallas, then Dallas must lose. Notables on this list have included Pronger, Pominville, Niedermayer, Tucker, etc.
See how simple it all is? :puffy:

In other news, we were up 3-1 and I said here that I know better than to get my hopes up after learning from Philli. I stand by what I said, we have a game 7 now and its anyones game.

Oh Ghost........you Sens fans are cute. Bunch of Johnny come lately displaced Leafs fans. But that rant was hilarious, you've got it down to a science (or at leas scientology, as worshipping the Sens is about as logical as worshipping L Ron Hubbard) :nana:
Good luck to the Rangers tonight, nothing would make me happier to see Ofailure, I mean Ovechkin lose yet another playoff series. My fingers are crossed for the Leafs tonight but I'm not holding my breath.
All in good fun folks, Ghost to each their own..........regardless of how misguided we may be.

I actually grew up as a Rangers fan, even though I could rarely see their games. Saturday night I would watch the Habs, since the Leafs were terrible in the early 80's. I still have a Rangers jersey I had when I was a kid. When Ottawa came into the NHL, that was my team. When the Rangers won the Cup, I tucked away the NYR jersey for good and suffered through the Daigle years until the Sens got good.
I was from the Cornwall area, so I also watched a lot of Nordiques games on TQS. Stastny brothers, Goulet, Bouchard, Hunter...awesome team!

Damn Red Wings! Can't stand that team. I've hated them ever since they became the Yankees of the NHL and were buying up future Hall of Famers at the trade deadline to make Cup runs in the pre-cap era of the late 90s and early 2000s. It's okay though, they have Chicago next round. It'll be fun watching them try and figure out Crawford and dealing with Kane, Toews, Saad, Hossa, and Sharpe.
