Hopefully the Blues can stay alive to at least force Game 7; we need to bring the series back home if for nothing else than if we lose we have the oppurtunity to set fire to their bus etc... You know normal fan stuff :nana: Let's go Blues!
Also why do you guys call the Canadiens, Habs? Is that like a nickname or is it in protest like the Washington Redskins issue that comes up every year.

Hey there, Habs is an abbreviation of "les habitants," the informal name given to the original settlers of New France, dating back to the 17th Century...

I'm such a big hockey nut I should probably have an honorary Canadian citizenship lol. I think I know more of the words to the Canadian anthem than the American though I can't sing it in French so I guess that would rule out full citizenship.
Well unfortunately the Wings and Leafs stretched their series to another game.
Today has the Isles and Pens as well as the Rangers and Caps. Should be a good day of hockey. I'm rooting for the Isles and the Caps. Nothing against the Rangers I'd just like to see Ovie and the Caps go deep in the playoffs this year. They way they finished the season I think they kinda deserve it. And I can't stand Pittsburgh.

Al, Holtby made some nice saves in OT. Hopefully, the Rangers will win tomorrow and force a Game 7. I'll tell you one thing, if the Rangers don't have Lundqvist they don't make the playoffs. They just can't score goals when they need them.
Saturday night and the wife's away and there is only 1 game on tonight and it's the Isles vs. Pens and no late games. Stinks!

I love the first round of the playoffs. Multiple intense games every day for a week. Always a bit of a let down once teams start dropping off and there's less games to watch.

Such a disappointing game tonight for the Isles losing a series they totally dominated. Now I'm the biggest Sens fan in the world. Anderson is a better goalie than Nabby and Pitt doesn't have anyone to match up with Neil. Ottawa's a bit more sound in the d zone and a bit more of an offensive threat at the other end. I'm hoping Ottawa finishes this one in five. GO SENS!

Yep, had to figure Sens and Pens. Karlsson just tweeted this..."Wonder how many Q I'm gonna get now about my injury. Lol #whocares #oldnews #playtowin"
It's on!

I just wish the league would get off of this love affair with Crosby. He hasn't done much at all in the last three season except watch the games from the luxury suite. He missed the entire last month of the season yet they have him up for the Hart and Lindsey awards. It's a joke! I'd like to see people get credit for what they've done and not who they are. Like Tavares and Ovechkin getting the nominations as well. They both put their teams on their backs and made the playoffs when a lot of people doubted. Ovie led the league with 32 goals after an abysmal start and Tavares was second in goals. Either of the two deserve the nomination more than Crosby. Sure he had 56 points but like I said he missed the last month of the season and wasn't really a factor in his team making the playoffs.

I hope my Sens are still under the radar a bit. If Anderson and Karlsson don't get hurt they'd both be up for at least the Vezina and Norris. Andy is our wall, but our defence is solid too. Going into this year I thought our D was weak, especially after Cowen and EK got hurt. I was wrong, very wrong. Probably why I don't have a job in pro hockey and never will. BTW- Jared Cowen looks just like Seinfeld. That won't have any bearing on this series, but is worth noting.
Spezza is now practicing with the Black Aces too. We have a chance to win this.

Lord you just lost any hope of honorary citizenship. Seriously what has Crosby done? He's only the best player in the league by miles, he missed 25 games and it took to the 2nd last game for someone to catch him, he was on pace for a 100 point season in a half season. I'd take him over Ovechkin any day of the week and 5 times on Sundays. What's Ovie ever won other than a scoring title? He's never won any title at any level of hockey, period......I respectfully rest my case. That being said he'd look good in blue & white :D

Lord, I'm with you on hating the Pens, god I hope the Sens dump them quick! And on Crosby, you are spot on again. He's good but with the injuries, he's just another Eric Lindros. He is a talented player and I will give him his due but he's not even close to the greats in my book. He still doesn't have the talent of Gretzky or the toughness of Howe. And thats just to name a couple. My 2 cents worth.

Teams win titles not players. Look at Hull in St. Louis or Gretzky in L.A. Great players that never won a Cup in those cities because of the teams. If you're going by Cup wins then Shawn Thornton is better than Sid because he got one with the Ducks in '07 and one with the Bruins in '11 and Sid's only won one Cup. See my point.
Ovie beat out Sid for rookie of the year honors. He put up 52 goals and 106 points that year on one of the worst Caps teams ever. He achieved a record setting third Richard trophy this year and is also the only player to win four awards in one season when he snatched up the Richard, Art Ross, Hart, and Lindsey. Sid hasn't had a 50 goal season on a crap team. He didn't win a Calder. He hasn't won four awards in one year or three Richards. He's only won one Hart trophy to Ovie's two. He wasn't even a factor in Game 7 of '09 because he sat on the bench for half the game.
Individually speaking Sid is nowhere near being the best player in the game. There's a lot of players I'd choose over Sid when picking a team. Kane is a much better player than Sid. Easily the best passer and set up man in the game plus he can bury the biscuit when needed, note the Cup clinching Game 6 OT winner in 2010. You don't even have to leave the Hawks to find another player better than Sid. Toews is a much better leader and clutch player. He's deadly on the PK or PP and the youngest to captain a Cup team. Then there's Stamkos down in Tampa or Bergeron in Boston, or (can't believe I'm saying this as I hate the Wings) Datsyuk in Detroit. Sid's a top level player but definitely not the best in the league.
