I failed to introduce myself when I joined the forums earlier in the season. Overdue, but here it is:
My name is Taylor. I am a young pipe smoker at 22 years old. I am from Michigan and I am a college student studying Hospitality Business. GO GREEN! I have already lived in Florida (doing the Disney College Program) and in Texas (which is where my fiance is from.) I have been smoking for over a year now, and I enjoy aromatics and Virginias the most. Other things I enjoy are all things Disney, sports, beer and wine, kayaking, music, and spending time with my family and fiance.
I have been on the forum for a couple of months now, and I have enjoyed all of the interactions I have had with other members. This is a great group of people. Thanks to all who have already made me feel welcome!

Hi Everyone!
Glad to be a new member here! I recently got back into pipe smoking. My dear grandfather smoked pipes, and I suppose I have fond memories like many of us of our dear relatives!
I enjoy tobacco! I liked pipes when I was younger, but it just didn't seem that "fashionable". So I put them on the shelf in a box. I always enjoyed going to the Tinder Box store, and just enjoying the scent of the place. Wonderful! I bought a $60 calabash meerschaum pipe there, for my love of Sherlock Holmes!
I don't know if I like aromatic tobaccos so much... I know I do like Latakia. Maybe it's Cavendish that I am truly passionate about. I look forward to more great adventures in the pipe world!

hello people (pipele?)

I am Isaac, 31 years young, hailing from Auckland, New Zealand...I started smoking pipe 4 years ago when living in Canada eh, started on house blends by thomas hynds and brighams and have since made a couple of briar pipes and purchased a few too, although still a fairly modest collection its growing in the slow and steady fashion. I was originally introduced to the aromatic world but i have since found myself mostly ignoring anything with casings and gravitating toward LATAKIA! My wife is very supportive of my hobby, although now that i have a lovely baby daughter around i am not to smoke in the house...

Its nice to find a place where it is perfectly acceptable to use a pipe smoking analogy for anything and everything!

Howdy! I'm Mike; I'm from Indiana. Our family was vacationing at Brown County State Park a couple weeks ago, and we kept running into this older gentleman who was smoking a pipe. My wife said it reminded her of her dad, who occasionally smoked a pipe. My dad also occasionally smoked, and I had kinda always been interested in the idea.
So, when we got back home, I started researching "how to get started in pipe smoking". I quickly discovered that this site is THE PLACE. I've been lurking here for a couple weeks. I also researched local tobacco shops; I found a B&M whose website listed all sorts of stuff I recognized.
So, I stopped in on Tuesday and picked up a MM Legend, sampler packs of 1Q and MacBaren Cherry Flake, some pipe cleaners, a tamper, some matches, and some filters - all for about $22. I haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet, but I will soon! I especially love the "Cheat Sheet for New Pipe-Smokers" - trying to start from a point somewhere past total ignorance. :)

Starting to Get Obsessed
Hey all! From Detroit MI. Just started smokin pipe about 3 months ago. No particular reason, just thought of it one day, then went and bought a MM, and a pouch of PA cherry vanilla. I've been smoking cigarettes (coughin' nails) for about 12 of the 28 years I've been on this rock. And the pipe has inadvertently quelled my cigarette intake drastically! Which is definitely a good thing. I'm somewhat of an all day smoker iguess you'd say. I'm still trying to find "The One" pipe and tobacco. But, I thoroughly enjoy Va's, Va/Pers, English, Balkans. Pretty much runs the gamut.lol Haven't really had a blend that I didn't like, just a couple that I had to get used to, then fell in love with, i.e. Nightcap, and Edgeworth slices! A couple of my faves are Peterson Itish Flake, Universtiy Flake, Edgeworth slices, Peterson Balkan Delight, and Samuel Gawith Squadron Leader. I joined this site for some comradery with the art of pipe smoking, and for some help, tips and tricks on the subject, 'cuz lord knows there's a lot to it!lol I look forward to shootin' the $&!? With everyone!

Hello All
I am Eric. I have been smoking pipes on and off since the mid 1980's. Found the radio show that led me to this site. Looking forward to exploring it as time permits.
Reading the forum, I have notice quite a few "younger" smokers and am glad to see that.

Good morning! Glad to have "jined up" here and am looking forward to the discussions. Been an on-again, off-again pipe and cigar smoker for many years, starting with a CAO Calabash and bulk cherry pipe tobacco in high school for a show. Now, I enjoy my Petersons and Savinellis with Dunhill, Peterson, Sam Gawith, Erinmore Flake, and numerous other brands and am always looking for an excuse to start a new bowl of something new. My best wishes to all!

Hello my name is Marc and i live in Wales,
I gave up smoking cigarettes amd roll ups over 6 yrs ago, but earlier this week, i was having a pint of Cider outside a pub in town, when a guy next to me lit up a pipe with Petersons Connoisseurs Choice, and it smelled so good i asked him what tobacco what he was smoking?
I then went to Havana House and bought a Falcon Coolway bent briar pipe, 50 grams of PCC, some spare filters , pipe cleaners etc, and after reading how to smoke and clean a pipe on Pipe forums (this site included) and watching Youtube, I lit up my first pipe.
(Ooohhhhh yeah) 8)
I must say, i totally enjoyed it. and after smoking about a dozen bowls, i think the pipe is just about "broken in" and even though the Petersons is nice, i'm sure there are plenty more Tobacco's to try out.
Anyhow, i look forward to reading and learning loads more about Pipe smoking..
Marc...

My name is Jake and I'm from The Land Down Under! Pipe Smoking is a pretty uncommon thing down here, I'd never met or heard of one before I started looking online. Love a good looking pipe, I don't have any shapes that I prefer. Favourite current tobaccos are any Frog Mortons!
