March Meerschaum Madness - Let the Madness Begin!

Good times.
I was spurred to buy a meer, but having gotten on a mid-century American kick it was meer-lined Kaywoodie. I’ll keep smoking my fleabay and mini meers a few times a week.
If I come across a lightly or unsmoked estate claw I can get into cheap I will add one, and a CF Altinay is in my future when funds allow. Blue collar by choice has its drawbacks

All 3 of my turkish meers were made by carvers with A as the the first letter of their name. So it could either be;

Ahmet April

Or

Altinay April

Good looks on the sandpaper suggestion @Chasing Embers

I had to go to a 180 grit and a 240 before getting to the 320 but it worked super well. I might’ve sanded the actual meerschaum a touch around the inner rim but it’s negligible and looks like I just barely started to scratch into it.

Realllly hard to get a good pic of it but trust me the cake is trimmed way back. I started off not being able to fit my index finger in and by the end it could easily fit.

Yeah I wasn’t trying to do that. It just happened over time even after wiping out after every bowl. Glad I got it cut back though it 100% smokes better now.

I love cake in my briars, but my meers I can't stand it for some reason. Mutes the flavor.

Beautiful meer. How much does that thing weigh?

Just finished a bowl of Klondike Gold and remembered that I needed to weigh the pipe. So I haven't been keeping track of how many bowl have gone through this but a rough guess would be ball park 250 / 300 . 80 grams is what I was thinking it weighed new so no weight change.
