I’m coming up on my one year anniversary as a pipe smoker and a member here, and this forum in particular was a goldmine of valuable information for me when I started out.

There are too many people to name. A great many of you have not only educated and entertained me, but also made it worth sticking around. I routinely Marie Kondo the everloving shit out of my social media and forum bookmarks to preserve my sanity in a world that frequently feels entirely too much like it’s going to hell in a greased handbasket filled with frothing imbeciles, but this place has never once been culled from my bookmarks.

Here's a few that I miss.

I've always enjoyed Neal's @npod posts and photos.

I miss seeing what Matt @carolinachurchwarden is making out of wood. He made some nice pipe racks/cabinets and carved tampers.

I always enjoyed Sante's (fishnbanjo) posts and photos. R.I.P.

Photo posts from Neal are just a sight for sore eyes, because he is a professional photographer.
He has a huge collection of pipes and constantly photographs them. It's a mystery to me how he does it, when he manages to earn money for all these pipes )

You find time for what you enjoy. I sleep 3-4 hours per day, work a 7/12 shift, do a two mile hike in the woods every morning, and used to regularly commission pipes from Bruce Weaver.

The signup is usually posted in October, early November. There are some criteria like post counts and time served. A good time is had by all.

Oct 2019. Just over a year and a half, I suppose. My pipe smoking has been hardened in the fire of 2020. When people said to cellar because the end is nigh, I heeded. The gods are angry!

Shucks guys... I step away for a weekend, and everyone's so nice. It makes me wonder what happened to you all. Ha ha, but I will do my best to be humble.

I come here because of all of you, not just the smart, considerate, and thoughtful people, but even the gnarly old, angry, curmudgeonly, arguing posters... like Harris. Ha, if we all agreed, this place would suck. Heck, even Chasingembers opposition to every ideal, tobacco, and pipe always brings a smile to my face.
