I feel this describes me too. When I find a new hobby I always go a little past normal in the excitement , then settle down. Even in the adrenaline stage I think all were under $40 tops.
Exactly. New hobbies tend to get me going and then I settle down after awhile. I just wish it had been a cheaper lesson for me. All my pipes were bought new, a couple of expensive ones too.
Well, I guess compared to my car hobby a few years ago, this is a cheap hobby. Imagine wasting $2500 on adjustable coilovers, only to figure out the performance difference is barely noticeable over stock.

Many but its really slowed down now, I thought I was being good but I bought 4 pairs of shoes yesterday. Also I have stopped ordering tobacco instead picking up tins at B and Ms when on day trips with the missus. Tobacco is so expensive in the UK that buying pipes is a lot more tempting, ive never paid more than £30 for a pipe including Dunhill, Charatan and Barling but tobacco is £13 a tin!

Ah...a fellow "rod brother"...but we keep telling ourselves that adjustable coil overs ARE better. ;) Contemplating a 4-link myself over the winter and complete suspension "upgrade".
Meanwhile - back on topic - I just bought 2 MM cobs...it never stops.

Nothing to regret there, Cap. Nothing wrong with a new pipe
Wish I had not bought a number of tobbaco's I had purchased over the years, that is part of the mystery and fun when you really nail one.

Picked up around 8 briars and 12 cobs this year ... I think!
Best Briar score was a Castello Sea Rock 32
Best Cob score was my late 1800's / early 1900's MacArthur cob with 24" Fancy Reed Stem

A few last minute additions: Three Holiday pipes went in the mail today. As this year comes to a close, my family has been fortunate; I'm a lucky man to have such a wonderful wife, and lovely children.

I held things in check this year as it was a struggle financially. However, I added a two Pete's and one Savineli Christmas 2015 pipe. PAD was a different story with about 25 pounds of bulk to the cellar along with 49 tins.

Well count me in for one more. Just added a Peterson 999 fishtail and I might have a pipe sitting under the Christmas tree too. Plus there's this pipe on briarblues.com that's just making my check card itch. LOL
