Godwin's Law fulfilled.

Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies) is an Internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1"; that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Adolf Hitler or his deeds, the point at which effectively the discussion or thread often ends.

Sung to the Colonel Bogey March:

Hitler has only got one ball
Göring has two but very small
Himmler is rather sim'lar
But poor old Goebbels has no balls at all

Hitler has only got one ball
The other is in the Albert Hall
His mother, the dirty bugger
Cut off the other, when he was only small

She threw it into the apple tree
It fell in to the deep blue sea
The fishes got out their dishes
And had scallops and bollocks for tea

?
...and out steps Sigmund Freud.

Yes. That is curious isn't it? Also a bit of the Mandela effect.
Wikipedia:

"In psychology, a false memory is a phenomenon where a person recalls something that did not happen or recall it differently from the way it actually happened. Suggestibility, activation of associated information, the incorporation of misinformation and source misattribution have been suggested to be several mechanisms underlying a variety of types of false memory phenomena."

All jokes aside, it should be noted he was awarded several decorations for bravery. He received the Iron Cross Second Class, in 1914. In 1918 he received the Iron Cross First Class. If parallels can be made, that's the approximate equivalent of 2 Congressional Medals of Honor.
Don't forget Hitler's greatest accomplishment. Hitler killed Hitler.

From the BBC today....

"California has declared a state of emergency after announcing its first coronavirus death, bringing the US death toll from the disease to 11.

The 71-year-old man, who died in a hospital near Sacramento, had underlying health conditions and had been on a cruise ship, said officials."

.....so a guy aged 71 who already was ill dies and they declare a state of emergency? cray

Regards,

Jay.

Here is the age we are in:

-Tie the release of funds to the declaration of an emergency.

- Call an emergency at the drop of a hat to get the funds.

- Simultaneously tell the public it’s an emergency but not to panic. Wonder why the messaging isn’t effective.

Is it any wonder why we are sitting in the ashes of civilization?

Fact of life. Live longer, have a lifetime of wear and tear on your body, you are more at risk. Maybe we should work on getting the whole population to wash their damn hands after taking a piss. That would go a long way I bet.

I prefer to wash my hands before I piss. Who wants dirty naughty bits? And, then just don't piss on your hands. I don't see how pissing, washing your hands, and preventing the Corona Virus all coordinate. It'd be better to just wash your hands after being out with people. Does the virus come from your own piss? puffy

I'm getting cynical about this whole thing. I had to have stitches in my hand last week, and there have been no alcohol or bandages left on the shelf at the drug store, so I started wrapping it in paper towels or toilet paper at home. Then when I went to WalMart, they were out of paper towels and toilet paper. Then I noticed that I was the only person in the aisle without a facemask, and they were looking at me like I was the crazy one.

If I get it, I get it. There's not much more I can do about that. If I die, I die. I just keep a smile and positive outlook, so that I don't die with regrets. Change what I can change, come to terms with what I cannot... grant me the power to know the difference.

Is it really that bad there? Don't use toilet paper on a cut, that's stuff is terrible if it gets wet! Especially if you reuse, recycle, and reduce!

Not suggesting pissing is related to Carona virus. But people don't tend to give a shit what they transfer onto another person's hand during a normal course of a day, why are they all of a sudden worried about what might be stuck to a box coming from China or wearing masks in public. Life is full of risks. Plow on through them.

Face masks aren't much in evidence here, as of yet. I see a few Asian folks wearing them. The face masks won't actually do all that much as a protection n95 or not, except for getting in the way of unconsciously touching your entry ways with your hands. Wearing them all the time can create a wonderful climate for giving yourself a bacterial infection.
I hadn't heard about panic buying of toilet paper. That many people are discovering that they're supposed to wipe after dropping a deuce?

I've been told that most paper products are coming from China, but I have no idea whether this is correct. But, it has set off panic buying.

Bless their hearts, Alabamians aren't known for their abilities in discerning general hysteria from real threats. I just treat everyone in a mask as if THEY are the ones with a disease that they are protecting ME from. Of course they are just selfish pricks, but the thought helps me appreciate humanity.

That would be about the best use for a face mask. Shelves here have been wiped out as well, not so much paper products, rather hand sanitizer, face masks, and alcohol.
Hell, if you want to be terrified, check into where and under what conditions your prescription medications are actually made, 'cause they aren't made here.

I could rant and rant about prescriptions. I cut my hand, and it was bad, needed stitches, but i had no pain at all. I asked the doc to just stitch it, but he refused and started jabbing a needle into my hand to deaden it, which DID hurt. Then, when he asked me how I felt after he stitched it, he prescribed me 30 hydrocodones. WTF? I had no pain. No wonder there is a huge opiod addiction problem

I fell one time and split my chin open. Put some tape on it and went to bed. Woke up in a pillow full of blood because the tape wasn't enough to get it to heal. I was pissed because it was under my chin and I couldn't see it in the mirror to be able to stick a stitch or two in it to help close it. Went to the clinic. Same deal. Wanted to check everything else on me before they would put the stitches in. My wife told them I was going to stitch it myself and they explained what a bad idea that was. They then told me how I would need to see my doctor in a week to have the stitches removed. I asked him if it was five or six stitches that he put in. He pause for a moment. Said it was six. Then walked over to a cart, pulled out a little suture removal pack. Handed it to me and said. Make sure you get them all :)
