I fell one time and split my chin open. Put some tape on it and went to bed. Woke up in a pillow full of blood because the tape wasn't enough to get it to heal. I was pissed because it was under my chin and I couldn't see it in the mirror to be able to stick a stitch or two in it to help close it. Went to the clinic. Same deal. Wanted to check everything else on me before they would put the stitches in. My wife told them I was going to stitch it myself and they explained what a bad idea that was. They then told me how I would need to see my doctor in a week to have the stitches removed. I asked him if it was five or six stitches that he put in. He pause for a moment. Said it was six. Then walked over to a cart, pulled out a little suture removal pack. Handed it to me and said. Make sure you get them all

Could have tried that too but was frustrated by the lack of view in the mirror. Probably could have made it work with a second mirror but my wife was doing a lot of squawking to distract me and wasn't about to participate by helping me with my attempts to get a look at it. She did however snip the stitches for me so that I could yank them out by feel.

Props to the woman at the top. Not only is she ready for her next role in the remake of Invaders From Mars. she did a pretty good job of fabrication and actually did something potentially helpful with the gloves. The rest...not so much.

The Germans have a word for the panic buying that is happening now: Hamsterkauf. Named after the way hamsters horde food in their cheeks. It's gotten pretty bad. Like this recent photo of a fella in Innsbruck Austria:
