I'm trying to post a link to Shane Ireland's tasting notes... see if this works:
Shane Ireland's Tasting Notes The Beast
If that didn't work, go to spc's blog and it's the first or second entry. Sorry if anyone posted this earlier. Also, Shane is a self-confessed lover of rich, full, storng flakes etc... and he takes about a dozen puffs of The Beast and has to go lay down for the afternoon!! Fasten yer seat-belts!

Rumper Clan is about to go mainstream. LOL. This should be a lovely smoke. About to enjoy Rum Soaked Perique while I await the delivery.

Honestly? I don't buy many tins. I like em, I just can't see affording them on my pension plan.

However, this blend periques my interest and I ordered 2 tins.

I am just wondering what -27 on hand means...

I think this one really p(er)iqued interest and sold out in record time. I'm glad; the "small batch" project allows these blenders to push the envelope, and they came up with a really interesting blend. This is a high-Perique blend you can smoke and enjoy like a regular tobacco.

Oh lord, the Arcadian Perique argument got started on page one, I believe this akin to the Absinthe/thujone levels argument. Anyone want to expand on the Arcadian vs St James perique. I was under the impression that all perique came from St James Parish. C&D has been on record saying this. Cosmic, can you elaborate on this?

Cabbie's mixtures is described as including St. James Perique. Pipesandcigars claims St J is Acadian Perique, but I don't trust them at all.
This terminology is hilarious. Acadians are New World people of French descent, with two populations: (1) Quebec and (2) Louisiana. Acadian Perique then means -- one must surmise -- any Perique that is not from the St. James Parish itself, but is manufactured according to the same methods. Unless one believes in terroir (small dogs) to an extreme, this distinction is nonsense and horsepuckey. ;)

It seems that St James Periuqe is made from tobacco grown in St James Parrish. Arcadian Periuqe is from Green River Burley processed in the same way.
