I'm sure not, for any pressing "couples buttons" activities - not that there's anything wrong with that.
talking about "buttons"... I dated a girl once, who demanded that I "tease" her a little while making love... I was apprehensive, but into trying new things, so I took a deep breath and said, "Fatso! fatso! fat-so."
I'm so glad that I am married now. I just don't think I would enjoy dating in this day and age. puffy

WIll Hunting needs to explain the evolution of the market economy...
Had me thinking of Thorstein Veblen and conspicuous consumption but this really isn't about wealthy people buying special tobacco for the appearance or prestige - so more like just good old American marketing and hitting their target market pretty well.

Actually, in the capitalist system, the idea is to get as much as you possibly can, and still move your product. They've just proved that a pound at the $60-70 range can sell out in 9 minutes... so, if they wanted to push profits up, while still maintaining a viable customer base, they could raise prices easily... becoming more exclusive, like Dunhill and other luxury goods. They could even start to move less product while raising profits.

As long as the market keeps acting like a hungry monster, this is a possibility.

When Peterson had the 4ABs dropped in the U.S. it was I think 11 p.m. Central and I stayed up. Problem was I had what I wanted but in the back of my mind I knew the SP Europe site was dropping at 4 a.m. Central (that was my backup plan). I decided I had no reason to set my alarm, off to sleep and sure enough I woke up anyway and right at 4 a.m., so blurry eyed I checked the site just to see how quickly things were selling and for some reason in my fog decided to get another one, which wasn't the smartest thing to do, but hey, I was awake. Kind of lost my desire for the overnight stuff after the fog that was 6:30 a.m. and getting ready for work that morning, lol.

Yes, in hindsight they could have pushed the price for sure - that's always the gamble trying to decide. And at some higher price level they reach a point where it would not have sold as fast but would be gone in "x" days so I'm guessing they also take into account whatever value they see in saying "all gone in hurry" after it's all over.

I think they that eat that feeding frenzy up. I would. In fact, I bet they read these threads with a big ass grin. I would expect them to.

Sure, sure many of the lower income and "economy" based pipe smokers would get turned off by the higher prices, but, they could build a more loyal and more exclusive clientele by raising prices... easily.

I was surprised at $59. They could have easily gotten $80. A pound box of Mac Baren is $69 at SP. Those evil people at C&D and their marketing ploys.

See, they wouldn't have to jack all prices up, just these small batches. The folks with tighter incomes can still have their everyday blends, which the small batches become more exclusive, less of a working man's thing.
It would still have sold out just as fast. Flippers were likely half of the sales and a price increase wouldn't have stopped them. B&Ms were also selling it several days prior to its official release as well.

Lol I’ve been waiting for a thread lock or some sort of reprimand

yeah I was expecting it to be $90 or so, and I was indifferent towards getting it at that point. But when I found out the price was straight I said “I’m in”. Then when I saw the qty. up for grabs I knew the notion of scoring any belongs in the realm of fairytales and ahem, folklore. It’s all good though

I’m so American, that I am not even comfortable with the word…. Com… com… community, because it’s just too Communist sounding to me. Give me a healthy upper class, luxury goods, and internal combustion engines. Vroom vroom!
