It's freaking embarrassing, that's why I don't post them here. Some of us have problems okay? 🤪

Hey anything you post is certainly appreciated! And I certainly am not buying anything out of the ordinary.

Post whatever, it’s all great! :)

Be well! 🤙 ❤️

Friend of a neighbor friend quit 2 years ago and gave me his humi. I cleaned it up real good inside and out. Considering how to fill...

Unless that is a very high end humidor (Elie Blue, Gentilli, etc), I would plan on applying some food-grade silicone caulk between the (plexi)glass and wood. Doesn't take much, and I've never had a see-through humidor, but between people I know who have, plus chatter I've read online, the see-through/wood interface is sometimes not very well sealed.

Thanks, yeah I don't love the windows. I'm not sure who made it but it seems of average quality. I was pleased to see recessed cuts for the hinges

The windows are very common on affordable humidors bought online. My buddy had nothing but trouble with one until he siliconed the seams. You have to let it cure completely before using it, but I don't remember it taking that long. Took a while longer for all of the smell to dissipate after it was "cured" per the label.

He put some beads in it and it performs very well.

How did he know there was trouble?

I'll silicone it if I have to, but am leaning towards seeing how it holds without first...

I bought one of those acrylic humis from Northwoods and it was hard to get the sealant odor out. Although, not even sure this was jointed with silicone...

He lives in the UP and heats his house with wood, so his house is notoriously dry in the winter. He had a Western Digital hygrometer in there - so nothing fancy, but reliable enough. Anyway, during the winter, his hygrometer was pegged in the 20-30%RH range. His cigars were burning fast and were noticeably dry to the touch.

Throw a hygrometer in there and then watch how the cigars smoke closely. If it's been 3-6 months with no sign of humidity lower than you find acceptable, you're good to go.

La Aroma De Cuba Connecticut has graduated to Always Keep On Hand status, so I ordered a fiver of Churchills on payday.

(I would have ordered a 10 pack, but I wanted to order some Rattray’s Red Rapparee and Sun Bear too, and my wife was already partway through buying everything on Amazon.). I’m hoping that they will be rested before it gets too cold!

Quick shot before these get boxed. Nice haul from a local shop, 1st visit.

Fuente Opus X Pussycats

Fuente Hemingway Short Story (haven't tried these yet)

And the last 2 Black Label Madonna Negra. They had 3 but I convinced a guy to try one as he was not familiar with the brand. Released last summer so should be smoking well right off the shelf. The few I had in spring were great

Dang! Sounds like a great shop. Those Short Stories are great when time is short.

WCC was just selling some Pussy Cats, I should of bought a few there when I had a chance, but did want to spend $19.99 at the time, was hoping they might be less expensive somewhere else… 🤔

We made our semiannual trip to Green Bay yesterday, and I picked up an AF Gran Reserva Churchill at Tundra Smoke Shop. I’ve never seen the churchill version before, so I’m going to give it a try.

On the way out of town I stopped at the Oneida Casino Smoke Shop to see what the selection was like, and the verdict was: sad. It’s primarily a cigarette store. The humidor is a cabinet about 2’ wide by 5’ tall. I picked up a little Punch and hit the road.

I have looked recently, considering doing a COTM.

The one I’ve been most interested in is Small Batch, read a lot of good things about it.

But, I am picky, so I wonder if I will enjoy it… Hmm I guess if they give decent sticks… 🤔
There are many choices out there! After 4 months of disappointment with Holt’s, I was eager to switch to a different vendor. I looked at Small Batch too, but figured that I’m too new to appreciate the cigars for the money spent.

Smoke Inn has been the right choice for me: decent price (35/month), and a nice selection: usually different fromwhat I can get locally, but not so rare that I’ve never heard of them.
