Their thin geometry and 12c27M is nothing to scoff at .Stainless. (I had to go check, 'cause I wasn't sure.)
Tried a couple of their crumble cakes but didn't get on with them. Liked the taste but not the way they smoked. Couldn't get any pull from them no matter how I packed them.I think we ran out of plugs to discuss that were still in production...No one mentioned the Century line of plugs. They dont have great reviews but there are also very few reviews so its hard to tell.
To get the thread back on its rails (maybe)
Has anyone smoke the Century Plugs?
Nothing unworthy about an Opinel, a hundred thousand French farmers can’t be wrong, simple, tough and takes a great edge, perfect for plug.Oh heavens no. Every proper plug gent must have a dandy boy knife.
This one has shaved up probably 30 pounds of Dark Plug.
When and if I get serious about plug tobacco I’ll get a worthy knife.

I've got a #7 Carbone that I've neglected for too long. I'll have to pull that back out and sharpen it. As far as pocket knives go I don't think you could do better. My favorite knife overall is my Morakniv 106.Stainless. (I had to go check, 'cause I wasn't sure.)
In the winter I do most of my smoking in my wood shop, and my Morakniv 106 is what I reach for to cut plugs. My choice plugs are GH Dark Plug and SG RB. I have a dwindling stash of Cob Plug that I dip into at Christmas time.I've got a #7 Carbone that I've neglected for too long. I'll have to pull that back out and sharpen it. I’d heard of Morakniv but had to look up the 106, I’m whittling a chess set and that looks like a damn good blade for that sort of work and you can just buy the blade alone which is very cool. Would you recommend them?In the winter I do most of my smoking in my wood shop, and my Morakniv 106 is what I reach for to cut plugs. My choice plugs are GH Dark Plug and SG RB. I know that wasn't directed to me but with chess pieces being so tiny, I think the 106's 3" blade is overkill. I carve my pipes with Moraknives so I've got recommendations for you...I’d heard of Morakniv but had to look up the 106, I’m whittling a chess set and that looks like a damn good blade for that sort of work and you can just buy the blade alone which is very cool. I love that Eldris, unfortunately they’re not on Amazon UK but I can probably get it direct from the manufacturer. I’m set for quality gloves and chisels but I imagine I’ll need more soon as those tiny carbon steel blades wear down pretty quickly. I’m making a very unconventional chess set, I’m basing the pieces on medieval gargoyles and characters from illuminated scripts and no two are alike, including the pawns. Also, if you don't already have a pair, I can't recommend Maxiflex cut resistant gloves highly enough. Perfect breathability and maneuverability.
My Mora-familyHey @jbfrady I found a recent pic of my gear. The cutting board is actually one of those thin planks of cedar you’re supposed to dampen and cook salmon on over a fire.
Sounds incredibly painful, yet efficient. Here is my Plug Knife and Block. Red Oak(from the same slab the benchtop is made from)

..... I still use the knife to cut foot with from time to time.
Is Warhorse that dense?Hey @jbfrady I found a recent pic of my gear. The cutting board is actually one of those thin planks of cedar you’re supposed to dampen and cook salmon on over a fire.

The current production is something in between a crumble cake and a humongous flake. I like to break off pieces and then slice them in half before rubbing out.Is Warhorse that dense?
Was going to say, I just smoked some that I purchased last year (no production date on the tin, so I labeled it '2022') and it is a crumble kake. I suppose you brought it out as a prop for the photo, but it caught me off guard. Thanks for the clarification. The current production is something in between a crumble cake and a humongous flake.
