Good points, ophi. We all have opinions (and orifices) and are free to express them, but the crap that sometimes follows is destructive.
I've heard folks say they were informed after the fact that they had eaten a horseburger which they thought was delicious—until they'd been told!

I ate iguana soup once and I thought it was quite delicious, my grandpa told me after I ate it, I was kind of shocked!! the lizard taste just like chicken breast, although my grandpa was looking for a different reaction.

This thread? It's all about having a bit of fun now. The OP has been discussed and cussed, now we go off on tangents, lots of assorted tangents. Sometimes it's what we do best.
Works for me.

People get torn up that threads end up like this, but in "real life" that is the way it works.
The subject was about buying new or used pipes. How long does that take to run out of steam?
I'm sure some adult will be along shortly to...

LOL. I'm fine with them goin awry. Always fun to read... sometimes a bit mundane. Hey, if I don't like it, I'll hit the back arrow.

I recently discovered that I have 3 estate pipes (from my great-grandfather). I have not decided whether or not I will smoke them, but I am planning to have them restored (once I find someone to do it).
If I were to smoke an estate pipe, it would have to be adequately cleaned. Someone mentioned using ever clear.

I've smoked only one new/unsmoked pipe. I felt weird about it because of what I paid for it. I feel smart smoking estates and not taking the financial hit. I feel the same way about cars.

I really treasure some of my estates, like my birthyear Dunhill.
I haven't read any of the other posts. Did anyone discuss germs and sanitizing pipe and stuff? 'cause that's a thing.
:)

I haven't bought a new truck since '05, turned out to be a nice car. I replaced it with a '93 GMC, much happier and have since moved up to a '95 GMC. I did enjoy new vehicles every couple of years but in hindsight taking a hit on the depreciation grew tiresome. Newer trucks have way too much electronics etc. for me, the wife's BMW is scary/expensive enough to repair. Buying used is alright for many things although many things are out of bounds, underwear ? Socks ?

This is dedicated to all who have posted on this thread (I guess that includes me now) and all who have actually read every word of the entire monstrosity.

Socks are underwear, they are worn under one's shoes/boots
Anyway, I think the census is that estate pipes make for fine smoking implements unless of course you think otherwise :puffy:

Jay.
